IBFD 7.04/7.05 issues

Hi guys, someone (team member or not) knows what caused the stability issues of IBFD 7.04 and 7.05? I've took a look at the huge "IBFD 7.0+ Discussion" thread but I haven't found a definite answer...I'm planning to bring back some features of the 7.04/7.05 versions for a minimod project I'm working on. I'm not sure. Ramon would probably know. I know that at least there were problems with the new introduced quotes files which would cause CTD's with loading screens.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but Ramon is the man best placed to answer that and he is rather busy at the moment.

But don't worry, V7.03 is stable and a new V8 will be released in the near future.

thanks for the answer; I know that 7.03 is very stable but I wanted to bring back into my customized 7.03 build the new units and maybe some other thing from 7.05 and I feared that would cause some issue, but so far I've imported into 7.03 the armenian units and they look great (especially the swordsmen).

You may want to add on Mylae's building add-ons, for V7.03 if you haven't already.

already installed, actually it was the first thing I've done after installing 7.03 thanks anyway

I've got the quotes files to work, or should I say that at least they work fine for me I changed a few things that could cause the problems

today I've experienced some CTD with the customized quotes...so I've tried to restrict them only to long ones (which I feared could cause problems) and the CTDs increased a bit; then I've tracked down all the quotes that I had seen on screen (assuming that they are "safe") and went down to 6-7 quotes, using only them I got a CTD 100% of time. The problem is, I can't recognize what's wrong with these quotes and I also fear that the CTD were caused by a lower than necessary (hardcoded?) number of quotes...this situation reminds me a treasure hunt

yes, when I had forgotten to change the other files a CTD right on startup was there to remind me to change the associated files

I don't know if it could be useful, but these are the "suspected" quotes
30 - 35 - 57 - 82 - 90 -92 - 101 - 104

these are the "safe" ones (seen on screen at least 1 time)
2 - 20 - 25 - 31 - 32 -33 -34 -37 - 38 - 47 - 57 - 59 - 61 - 62 - 63 - 64 - 66 - 67 - 72

Try these new quotes files. I went back to basics and copied RTW layout including keeping translations. I'd be interested to see if you get any CTD's.
