    Default RTW models/textures to M2TW

hey guys, i am extremely frustrated right now.... finally prom released the units that were for res gestae mod a longgg time ago. I absolutely love the elephants and all i want to do is bring them over to my game (using Broken Crescent right now). You'd think this would be something simple, but no, CA just wanted to  my life up hahah.... so i've tried using that 'tome of knowledge" tutorial and its not getting me anywhere. I've been screwing around with 3ds max 8 and milkshape and the Mesh converter ALL FREAKING DAY and i cant get the damn unit into the game... i cant even get the unit to merge with a skeleton... also, when i convert a mesh to a .ms3d, all the models have the SAME skeleton, even horses and elephants... its weird and i am completely stuck... anyone know what to do here??! any help would make my life Thanks

What I describe in the Tome is the process for normal units (read: units that use a human skeleton). If your doing mounts / siege equipment you need to use KnightErrant's mesh converter instead of GrumpyOldMan's.

just take a skeleton from an existing elephant and smack your elephant on it.

And if you think using a day on a problem is long, then you'd die to hear that i used the better part of a week on a new skeleton for my first Orc. Those damn wonky arms ... still give me nightmares . In the end i found out i'd just forgotten to zero joint my new skel lol, lesson learned.

    Happy modding,

Why do you need to merge anything with skeletons?

Just download the CAS to MESH converter, convert its mesh groups to MTW format, add comments and such, and you should be fine.

I think the problem is that the converter only handles the human skeleton? could be wrong. In that case i'll just make a note about it in the next version of the Tome.

Take a look, the readme is in a link below it (the author forgot to include readme in the file itself).

ok these tutorials are not helping me, i must be retarded.... i have not found the ".cas to .mesh" converter like you mentioned, and i tried to extract the skeleton from the mount_elephantlod0 or whatever it is... i got the .skeleton file, but now what? idk how to merge the skeleton with the .cas file from Res Gestae.... this is such a pain. i hate to ask, but could someone write up a quick step by step thing saying exactly what needs to happen? thank you all for your help

EDIT: now i tried using the RTW cas to mesh converter and i used the mesh converter to take the .ms3d file and make it a .mesh, and the converter says memory access violation... WTF CA!!! just come out with Empire total war so i can be happy!!!!!!!
