maybe this has been answered before but i was just wondering if in RS 2.0 they are making changes to the game map. if so plz post a screenshot.

Yes they are. But I beleive the map is a closely guarded secret. And i'm not joking.

It's a totally new map that has never been seen in any other mod, as it was made specifically for RS2.0. No pictures have been released and don't expect any in the near future, and not likely until release.

=(. I have massively high hopes for this new map then. The 1.5 one is bueautifil and to say that its a massive improvement for 2.0 would be awesome. I am kinda glad to not have the map yet, it looks too good and tempting and makes me want to play on it immediately and plan out my expansion of my various empires.

Even the current map looks absolutely stunning tbh.

Just 2 minor things:

-is it just me or do are the relations between the size of countries/regions often not correct? E.g., Italy for example and Cyprus seem smaller compared to e.g. France/Germany or the Armenian provinces than in reality. Hard to explain kinda, but it seems some regions are "too big" or others a tad too small, no biggie tho

-the danube is partly wrong, in the current map the danube ends in ~austria (modern) and there is a rather big region between the ending of the danube and the beginning of the rhine when in reality there is only very little space.
The real danube comes from south-west germany, a bit north of the rhine.

Well do bear in mind, that in almost all modern world maps the size of Europe is drastically inflated compared to reality. If you look at how big europe is represented on most world maps compared to say africa, and then actually look at the real sizes in terms of square kilometers you'd be amazed. The best comparison is to compare greenland to europe, on a lot of world maps greenland looks miniscule compared to europe, when it's in fact well over half the size.

Also, one of the reasons we're going to the new map is exactly that, the shapes and sizes aren't as accurate as we'd like them to be.

RS's campaign map is fantastic, after playing the mod for a few months, playing other mods and M2TW on their campaign map looks so ugly! Kudos to the RS team for making such a brilliant map.

From the Arverni preview on the beta beta map, it looks like the map scale is even bigger than before! Very nice.
