Client Rulers won't sally...
I am playing an EB 1.0 campaign as Baktria, but my client rulers will not sally out to defend themselves when they are under siege. I downloaded the bug fix to the trait file and followed the installation directions, but they are still stuck in their respective cities under siege. I wonder if it would be possible to modify the client_ruler trait so that it has only a 90% movement penalty or something, so that these characters can at least defend their cities. I looked in the desc_trait file, but I was unsure exactly what to change to decrease the movement penalty for that trait. Could somebody who is more familiar with the mod mechanics explain how to decrease the movement penalty for that trait, or at least confirm that the 1.0 bugfix to this problem does in fact work, and then I will try to re-install it. The other possibilty is that changes to the trait file are not savegame compatible, and therefore I will have this bug for as long as I continue my Baktria campaign...
Lastly, should I post this in the 1.0 bugfix thread?
Thank you,
MF

Re: Client Rulers won't sally...
Yes, sometimes the client rulers won't sally even with the fix because there is some other trait (such as the season) that is limiting his movement.
You can either personally mod the EDCT to lower the movement penalty even further, or do what I do: hide a small army near any border town with a client ruler so that that army can initiate the battle with the client ruler as reinforcements.

Re: Client Rulers won't sally...
Actually I do have a tiny unit of 15 archers whose role it is to initiate combat in the event of a siege (they are in a fort on a nearby river crossing). I guess that I will take another look at the file, but obviously if I can't figure out how to reduce the movement penalty, it still isn't a gamebreaking bug...
Thank you for your quick reply!
