Default History Changed with exceedingly good luck

I just started an XGM campaign as the Greek Cities.

    The year is 266 B.C.

I have been upgrading my troops and fleets with as good of armor and weapons as possible, rotating entire armies and fleets through Sparta for the Temple of Nike and Corinth for the Temple of Artemis.

I have three fleets around the Med, one patrolling between Greece and Italy, one between Greece and Crete, and a third one between Greece and Pergamum.

All three of them have at least one battle per turn, then return to base for retraining if in range.

I had just taken the Westernmost fleet and won a few battles with it when I saw a green Greek Independent States ship. Since my fleet was kind of close, I right-clicked on it just to see what it was.

    One ship, copper weapons, no armor upgrade, 17 marines, and;

    Are you ready?

Phyrrus and his whole army minus a few troopers and elephants! (56 rather than 72 elephants) It seems that he decided to abandon his dreams of Italy and was headed my way.

I was not close enough to attack him at the time, but I was close enough to get my fleet to Sparta for a retraining session.

I took my fleet into Sparta, remounted and reloaded by retraining, crossed my fingers that they would still be in range and hit "end turn."

They had not moved! There I was with a fleet of four ships with full complements of marines with upgraded weapons and armor.

    I attacked immediately!

Phyrrus and his whole army went swimming before drowning! The approximate position of their watery grave is 40 degrees North by 20 degrees East!

    Ah, that was awesome!

That's nice, never seen Pyrhus move away from Italy. Just a suggestion. build temples of Arthemis in Pergamum and Athens since they have iron resource and allow building the highest level blacksmith. Cydonia has it too.

Thank You. I already have them at Pergamum and Cydonia. I'll be watching for the iron resource to build such temples in the future.

LOL this is so awesome, I did some with carthage a few times, but then i realise is not very historically accurate, that you can see the army being carried by a navy, now you can just say "I attack any enemy navy on sight" that s a way around the inaccuracy . Still If I see an enemy army on a ship I usually dont attack it, in case like epirus, is not usual, so it would have been fun how macedon faces him

I figured that the guy was coming after me and prefered to send him to a watery grave rather than sacrifice a few thousand of my own soldiers fighting him. Had it occured to me that he was going after Macedon, I might have left him alone.

I took the test you left a link for. Some of the questions, there was no appropriate answer for me listed. I was classified as "blue", but blue also has a decietful side which I do not. I have been known to commit an act of treachery on rare occasions, but only when I'd been pushed into an otherwise hopeless situation.

I actually prefer the color Red. My doublet is red. Most of my favorite clothes are red. The test actually considered "red" to be among my enemies. I don't buy that. You seem like a fine fellow who I will enjoy conversing with in coming years.
