Default Islam and the Kuwaiti Tower

Kuwait has also unveiled a plan to build a 1,001-metre tower. Its height is a reference to the classic work of Arabic literature, ‘One Thousand and One Nights’. Three blades that will be built near the top of the tower will carry a mosque, a church and a synagogue to signify the unity of the three monotheistic religions.
The building will be one of the highlights of the ‘City of Silk’, a $77 billion project inspired by the Silk Road which aims to revive the ancient trade route
by becoming a major free trade zone linking central Asia with Europe.
The city, located in Subbiya on the northernmost tip of Kuwait Bay by the Iraqi border, plans to house 750,000 people when completed in 2030. Kuwait, which sits on ten per cent of global crude reserves, has been vying to restore its position as the most developed country in the Gulf, buoyed by windfall revenues from high oil prices that have increased its foreign assets to $213 billion.

This shows exactly what we Muslims believe in! Kuwait is building a 1,001-metre tower with three blades on it's roof, these three consist of a mosque, a church and last but not least, a synagogue. This is to show the unity of the three monotheistic religions also called the Abrahamic religions.

Finally can all the rubbish about Islamic racism towards Christianity and Judaism be thrown into the garbage, where it belongs.

We believe Christians and Jews will enter Paradise (as mentioned in the Qur'an), and what they did in Kuwait strongly resembles this belief.

PS. It also shows Muslims and Arabs don't hate Jews, they are just Anti-Israeli and not anti-Jewish.

This shows the more prosperous and educated a population are, the more open-minded they become.

The prosperous Gulf States are getting a long step ahead of their neighbors. After letting the building of houses of worship of other religions, I hope the next step will be the complete freedom of religion by allowing anyone to switch religion including Muslims.

I would say: The more educated and prosperous ... but I agree. It should be called the quote of the day!

Now, more of them hopefully also start to "believe" in the "Copernican Turn"*.

*Kant's paradigm shift is the "Copernican Turn," which abandons study of (unknowable) reality-in-itself in favor of inquiry into the world-of-appearances and the innate structures of the mind that determine the nature of experience.

You can blame media for seeding the picture of every muslim being an intolerant terrorist in the westerner's mind.

I wish there would be more stuff like this, but well, good sides of things dont sell in the present world i quess. 99 out of 100 news from middle east are about bombings or riots because someone drew a picture about Mohammad's beard. If only some people would take religion in smaller doses..

edit: i wonder if anyone has a picture of the plan of the building? I'd like to see more details, i can only think of some sort of tower of a medieval castle that has 3 swords and a minaret on top of it >.>

That's like saying you believe in cause and effect, congratulations. There's no Islam without Judaism or Christianity.

Intolerance for Jews and Christians is real, from Mohammad to the present day. The figurative peace this architecture is supposed to invoke is not real. The building may placate ignorant people and alleviate liberal Muslim's sense of guilt but it's about as sincere and relevent to Jews and Christians as black history month is to white Americans.

NONSENSE! These are not true Muslims, they are pigs corrupted by the west! The Kuwaiti people will not enter paradise as they have not filled their Kafir Head Quota!

On-topic: A. - I think it would be best that, once we die, we discover Islam is the true faith.

The only reason why I say that is it will allow more people into paradise.

Personally, I don't believe in any of those religions.

    B. - I do like the idea of putting a church, mosque, and synagogue all at equal level.

Sadly, I don't think this type of thing would happen in, say, Riyadh.

Good for Kuwait. I hope the rest of the Muslim world (espescially Saudi Arabia) take that to heart, although I don't see it happening any time soon.

Well, in Egypt there are synagogues, but they are really rare. Probably 7-10 in all of Egypt. I don't see Saudi Arabia building Churches any time soon....

But still bro without prosperity you would be too restless to even think about getting educated. With empty stomach your brain wont function well if you know what I mean.

I once had a lecturer who would have claimed all this skyscraper-building by Gulf states is nothing more than phallic symbolism, probably to compensate for lack of sexual expression or something.

While I think its a nice gesture this building, you can hardly call one building proof that the persecution of religious minorities in the muslim world doesnt take place. :hmmm:

I can only think of atheists being persecuted in Iran and that's about it.

Looks like a cool tower btw.

Well, Synagoges are a rarity everywhere. In Europe, very few stood the test of time and multiple persecutions. In America, there wasn't much interest in them, so yeah. There are few synagoges in general.
