EB does not include characters beyond those present at the starting date. This means that you will see Xanthippus as well as other characters that were in their childhood in 272 BC, but you won't see Hannibal or Julius Ceasar. After all, if Hannibal's father had been killed earlier, Hannibal wouldn't have been born yet.

but what if u would place his father at the right region at the right time? would it be so unrealistic to have Hannibal be born then?

You do know he was born in 247 BC?
But no, he is not in the game.

To my knowledge, vanilla Rome did not include such famous characters either. I guess you just got a random character named Hannibal.

I doubt it. Would Hannibal have been conceived under the same circumstances if Carthage had breezed through the first Punic war? Would he have grown up the same person if his father had not made him swear the famous oath? And of course, the chromosomes you inherit from your father are determined by a pretty much random process, so even if everything (and I really mean everything) was the same, then it still isn't guaranteed that the same Hannibal would have been born.

You still can have Hamilcar Barca, the father of Hannibal. He is a baby when the campaign starts, but if you have patience he will become a great general.

I like to think that in my campaign, the first born of Hamilcar Barca is going to be Hannibal.

Last time I invaded North Italy with a guy named Mago Barca in 218 BC.

You are right there, ainīt one of the carthage fanboys anyway (they seem to be asking questions about carthage at every mod and use nicknames that refer to carthage or hannibal) and Xanthippos (sp?) is more than enough for me.
