    Default about the greeks

I understand that Sparta is its own faction..correct?! Well may I make a suggestion..Sparta can be its own faction with the allies that it had around at this time like Tegea, Epidaurus, and Corinth. Just to name some of the smaller towns, however Corinth was one of Spartas more powerful allies. I am suggesting that Sparta and her allies be called The Peloponnesian League. I think it would be a good name for it and its histrically correct. As for Athens and her allies in the region Attica should be named The Athenian Empire. Also note that Athens at the time had one of the biggest and greatest Navies so I think that they should have better trained navies once they are built. Like with silver chevrons or 3 bronze cheverons. Just a thought for the 2.0 version. Thank you for your time.

The other Greek regions will be covered by free peoples. We have no intention of changing the factions we have decided on for RS2

What Spartan Ruler describes is the situation in Greece in the 5th century BC, 200 years before the starting point of Roma Surrectum.
By then, Sparta was a relatively minor power, Corinth was no longer an ally but was under Macedonian control and the Peloponnesian League didn't exist. Another league in Peloponnese, the Achaean League was beginning to gain power.
Athens had also declined and the mighty Athenian fleet was just a memory!

I'd like to see Sparta as its own faction but as pcaravel says, Sparta was at its height hundreds of years prior to the first Punic war. All of Greece was relatively weak by the time Rome started expanding.

I want to ask that spartan units will be powerfull comparing to other nations, like the Arverni?

They'll have different strengths and weaknesses. The Promachoi and bodyguards should obviously be pretty unbeatable in hand-to-hand against an equal number of opponents.

Is Sparta going to be a nation in 2.0? I hope not, cause that would be very historical uncorrect...
If they are allowing dwarfs like Sparta in they could make every city state a playable faction => not cool, keep te playable faction slots for the real Empires plz...

As worm said, Sparta and the other Greek city states and colonies are in RS2, but as swap factions.
Although at this time Sparta was moderately insignificant, so were all the other city states and representing them as a "Greek City States" faction (as in vanilla) is even more historically inaccurate than representing them as individual swap factions.

Truth be told, it is 'historically inaccurate' for ANY nation to conquer except Rome.

    Read the preview.
Sparta still was a City state at this time. Not much but still one.
A very week army and economy. We at RS made the decision after finding a lot of historical artifacts and Greek history accounts from Kera and his source's That Sparta was still a nation to deal with. Even after the destruction of its army against Mace.
Yes true Sparta was declining. But once you start a campaign on any faction you are the one that changes history!
So Sparta is our "what if faction ".
    thanks for your thoughts.

thank you^^^, but RS is suppose to be accurate unti wise right???, so give a chance to all the others .

I think there will be files to change the factions, or swap factions so if ya dont like em, you can just change it .
