Can you give some info on their army composition and tactics? Easier for us to give tips.

Actually, there is nothing special with tactics and unit types. I cannot beat roman armies effectively. I gain close victories or loose most of the time.
So, pls give your advices in general..
if you see me online pm me and i could show you 12345423675* different ways to beat them. Also if you are having trouble, fight fire with fire.

Unfortunately, I cant play online because of my connection problem. I am playing LAN battles.
I tried fire vs fire (roman vs roman), results were satisfiying. However, I find romans too powerfull(most time I refuse to use them since there is no point), and want them to beat with other factions..so pls keep advices coming..
Macedon:
6 Royal Pikemen in the shape of a Trapezium with the shorter parallel side facing the enemy.
3 Cretan Archers in front.
4 Companion Cavalry on flanks. Remember to move one unit of these to the start of the stack when you are choosing your army.
G/G Upgrades for your general, and some upgrades for two units of the pikemen, which will be the ones at the front of the Trapezium. Use the rest of your money on upgrades for archers.
Tactics:
1. Let the enemy come to you.
2. If they don't come. Select all your pikemen and hold alt then right click them to move forward, still maintaining the same structure when the stop.
3. Tell your archers to fire at any units not in testudo.
4. Take out any unprotected enemy archers with Companions. NB: Archers must be unprotected
5. Assign each unit of Pikemen to fight a unit of Romans, and if they have more than you, it doesn't matter, just fight as many as possible.
6. Try to kill their cavalry using your pikes. If it's a bad type of cavalry, just hit them with the Companions.
7. Once their cavalry is gone, swing your cavalry around the back of the Romans and hit them from the back (hammer and anvil tactic)
8. Use Companions to chase down routing units
Then, Victory should be yours.
I think the best way to beat a Roman (without using a chariot-faction) is to use a Cataphract nation like Armenia. Don't spam Cataphracts, but build your army around them. You're not impervious to Rome, but you definitely have a cavalry edge since all of the "uber-l337" Roman units are armored. And Cataphracts love armor. Smashing it, that is.

It's true, in the last tournament, TubbZ was easily able to beat my Roman army with the Selucids simply because of his catraphacts.
On a side note though, be careful with Roman infantry with your catraphacts, for some reason they seem to fare better than their cavalry bretheren. In a similar case, I've seen Urban Cohorts defeat Catraphacts, even though the Praetorians got wiped a short while before.

I know that, it's just for some reason when I see his name I want to type "her", no clue why.

Germania is my preferred anti-Roman faction, but there is one thing you should do no matter what faction you use. Waste their pilum. Most Roman players put the legionnaires on fire at will, so just run some peasants, or junk cavalry, or archers that are out of ammo up in front and try to get the enemy to throw all their pilum at them. With their pilum gone you can now perform a devastating chosen axemen charge and bust them up. The pilum is the most powerful weapon Roman factions have IMO.
In my opinion, cavlary advantage is key to defeating the Romans. If you can successfully rout their cavalry then you just have to pin them against your infantry to win.

Not necessary. Romans have the best infantry in game and this is key factor in battles against them. Their cavalry is strong, but can easily be destroyed by archers or better cavalry/chariots. Urbans can put up very fierce resistance, even against cataphracts and chariots.
Beware of highly upgraded Roman infantry.

True the Romans have a great infantry class, but if you can pin them between your cavalry and yoiur infantry, most times you can rout them. Now of course you would want to win the infantry battle a bit easier to give yourself a quick advantage. But seeing as most online players use Praetorian Cavalry, I'd say it would be hard to find a better class one on one.![]()

Hard? Cataphracts (Armenia, Parthia, Seleucid) smash Praetorian armour with maces. Chariots (Pontus, Britons, Egypt, again Seleucid) can mince them with scythes. That is 6 factions.
