    Icon8 Annoying siege bug

I'll get straight to the point:

When besieging a city, I like to batter down the walls/tower/gates/etc with my artillery before going in for the kill.

For some reason, as soon as I run out of ammo I get the defeat message, even if I have brought the wall down in multiple places.

Does one of the patches address this problem?

    Thanks!

I wonder if it's because you're attacking a citadel (has more than one layer of walls/gates)

Do you have other siege equipment as well (ladders, towers, rams)?

The first time this happened to me it was attacking Pamplona, which was held by the Portugese (I am playing the Spanish). I had one unit of catapults and one unit of bombards. My catapults ran out of ammo no problem, but the moment my bombards ran out of ammo I got the defeat message... and had not lost a single man. No towers or rams.

Pamplona starts out as a castle and if it had upgraded to a Fortress before you attacked you would have needed to save some artillary to bust through the second line of walls/gates or you will get the defeated message as soon as you run out of ammo.

Ah thank you... that could very well be it! I am still very much in the Rome mindset and not used to the different levels of fortifications.

No Problem! Glad I could help someone out here.

Love the game, but I bought it a year too late (never played a TW game before, boy have I missed out)
