Hey all, I'm not really a modder or anything, but I just had a thought.
I noticed that if a unit has higher melee attack than it does missile attack, in the RTW engine, I think it is classed as a melee unit. But, if it has the option to fire, it will.
Sorry if I'm getting a little bit confusing, but I'll try my best to be understood.
If a unit has say 11 melee attack and only 10 missile attack, then in NTW2 it will fire a couple of shots and then probably bayonet charge. But if it has 10 melee and 12 missile attack (Redcoats) then it will sit there and fire away. If I understood correctly, what stops the whole campaign for NTW2 thing is the skirmish mode thing and the AI not being able to comprehend gunpowder. But, if all units had higher melee attack than missile attack they would fire a few shots and then charge. Somebody please tell me if this could possibly work?
