Mankind's Highest Cultural Achievement

I was reading a thread and I saw Daovonnaex's signature which talks of Baseball being Mankind's Highest Cultural Achievement.

To me it's Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

So I have a question, in your opinion what is Mankind's Cultural Achievement?

Music, Arts, and Architecture are good picks, I'm suprised you did'nt throw alcohol in.

I think the next biggest achievment we can make is getting to the center of the earth. We know more about outer space than the inner workings of our own planet, so thats a big deal.

Perhaps not the greatest achievement, but one of the most interesting must be the fact how humankind has made own art form of killing each other and waging wars.

War can be considered that way.

Is it not, in it's own way, the ultimate sport? The sport that depends on mankinds both collective and individual skill at survival?

To me its Lord of the Rings.

Why? Well it has had the greatest effect in my opinion on fantasy.

Oh and the only achievement Atlas shrugged has in my opinion is the first book I used as Toilet paper.

I don't think this is a question that could be answered even by "in my opinion...". It is simply too vague, and vast.

The computer Nothing has linked more people then it, we wouldnt be having this discussion without it. Yeah the computer (and the net) is full of low brow nonsense like porn and bouncy nightelf boobs but the fact a person in midwest Us can stumble across/talk etc with a random person in eastern europe or asia is pretty remarkable. One would hope eventually it would pave the way to blurring the way of thinking that "I am European" or "I am american" and more towars "I am human"...but then again maybe it wont and the biggest cultural achievement is actually the Big Mac.
