Anyone interested in jazz rap artists?
Digable Planets for instance, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul (to an extent), Guru's Jazzmatazz was really good.

MacMillan doesn't compensate for variable humidity, wind speed and direction or the coriolis effect. Mother nature compensates for where Macmillan's crosshairs are.
I just listened to Jazz (We've Got) and Electric Relaxation on youtube. 'Twas OK, but I'm not hugely impressed. I found it got a bit repetitive, I'd like a bit more instrumental sections myself.
The only thing kinda similar to this I listen to is Free the Robots (jazzy trip-hop)
Yeah. Most the Native Tongues stuff. You have to love the bass on Buggin Out...
I guess you can put Stereo MC's with them (From the UK, but worked closely with De La and Bambaata)
Also, Breakestra are really cool. I cannot stress that enough. So are the Roots. ?uestlove is a star.
God: Free the Robots are also cool. I have to get more of their stuff - I only have an EP....
It seems odd leaving a message to God on a forum..
Finally, a new rap topic...
I have nothing but love for jazz rap. Probably my favorite kind of rap/hip hop.
Don't sleep on this.
DJ Drez & Marty Williams - Moon Bay Sessions
--one of my favorites of 07, (together with Y-Society); it's much better than Jazzmatazz (still have to checkout the 2008 matazz though)
I found two tracks on Myspace.
First one "Don't explain" is right here.
Second one "Malea" found here.
currently on heavy rotation: DJ Collagey - Proper Chillage
Y Society.

Thanks Pra!
You'll love it! I also predict you'll want to get the other Drez albums as well after listening to the Moon Bay Sessions. I own one with Zaire Black and the Jahta Beat one. The latter has a lot of Indian influences, maybe it's especially interesting for you.
Btw, the new Grouch album is released on the 10th of April. I'm exited...
Then there's also the new Funky Homosapien album, 11th hour came out two days ago, unfortunately it is a bit of a disappointment, but maybe it will grow on me.
Yeah 11th Hour seemed a lot like more of a B-Sides album. Have you checked out the new Sunspot Jonz album? It's pretty good. He's really good at making tight beats.
I'm definitely checking out Jahta Beat! Thanks for that recommendation.
Also have you heard of Mr. Stinky? You should definitely check 'em out if you haven't! A very tight group from Missouri, very skilled rappers, but haven't blown up as much. He's rapped with TECH N9NE on a few tracks.

Closest I've ever gotten to Jazz Rap was Nas and Olu Dara.
The concept sounds interesting, but I think I'd rather listen to straight-up jazz..
Life, go easy on me
for more from the wonderful world of Humber Reloaded, just google it!Then I weighed him I said, “Holy ****!” because he weighs 900,000,000,000,000,000 tons. That amazing weight made me say the “S” word.

I just discovered Arts the Beatdoctor, it's about as jazzy and hip-hoppy as it gets, and a lot is instrumental, which I like

Oh and pra, I'm happy to say A Tribe Called Quest are growing on me a lot![]()
