what kinda effects d'ye think it'd have on the world? politically, linguistically, socially, culturally, militarily etc
(we're assuming that america doesnt have the clout it does today, and also that this scenario is taking place some 20+ yrs into the future).
how would the chinese government react towards the EU?, Africa?, or even Australia?
would the chinese maintain a traditional policy of isolationism?

If the US no longer exists, China cannot be a superpower. Loss of the US markets will affect every country, but China especially since it depends so much on foreign markets and foreign investors. If either (or more likely both) go at the same time - watch China collapse like a pack of cards.

This is why people need not irrationally fear China as some kind of "evil communist superpower". The truth is that it is not in China's interests to be (overly) agressive towards the west.

Depends on the people running China. As I assume China may turn to capitalism in the future and become more democratic. Something like a bloodless revolution. They can't become a superpower if they keep the isolationism policy anyway.

Just like to point that tidbit out...there are several political maneuvers that also take place due to the added economic prosperity that creates a new class system. Currently China is keeping its currency waaaaaay lower than it should be, and as such stifles the creation of democracy in the country. It appears inevitable, though, that China will become a democracy. However, to become a superpower it will require an armed force rivaling the US, which will take a minimum of around 50 years--just for the navy.

Anyway, I highly doubt that China will be any different than the USA, or even the USSR. The new boss, same as the old boss...

As the world's superpower, I anticipate Africa will rapidly industrialize, feeding the Chinese markets with cheap goods, most Asian nations will become 'feeder' colonies of China, providing cheap resources and food. And china will likely begin to secure its economic interests around the world, supporting rebels and governments as it pleases.
