A New Era

So I have hit this event in my current game and while they say new mercenaries units are available there isnt. Its the same old kind before this event. Maybe it has to do with my faction I dont know, Im the Byz Empire.

Also with that I have seen the highest smith you can build is the Armour Facotry which upgrades you to advanced plate yet no units I have seen can upgrade to that....

I got that message in my campaign a few turns back. (Playing as Norway)

What i saw was that i takes a little time for the mercs to "build up"
As when you empty a region of mercs, they must "regenerate."
Some turns into the new era some units showed up, mainly pavise mercs,
so nothing exciting.

But ofcourse. it might be that the byz regions dont get any advanced mercenaries, they do get some nifty units in the late game though..

As to the Armory, only a few units can be upgraded to advanced plate, don't remember all, but HRE's Gothic knights are among them.

Speaking of armor upgrades, do we have a listing of some kind about which unit can get which armor upgrade?
