The provincial traits for troops and characters were great in METW 1. Would be nice and realistic to have that again.

Thessaloncia/Thrace region: Trait of +1 Cavalry command from the province for a govenor and also 5% to strategic map movement. The horses from this region were noted as being excellent throughout history.
Trebizond: Master of Archers ancilliary from this province for a govenor giving 10% discount on all archers produced in this province.
Trebizond: Trait of +1 to command when having Trebizond Archers in the army.
Wisconsin: Good cheese is made here. Province gives Master Cheesemaker ancillary, providing increase to healing of units after battle and a 'You are getting fat.' trait giving -1 to influence. And +1 to flatuance.

Since there is no papal faction in the mod, but the Pope was still important during this time, why not make a retinue called "The Pope" be given to the faction leader of the faction that controls Rome? He could cause a loyalty boost in whatever faction he belongs to and give lots of influence.

Duke of Mecca : this man has taken the holiest shrine of the infidels and shiend the light of christ upon it
Fatih: by the grace of allah this blessed man has captured Konstantinople , and led the first call to prayer in the Hagia Sophia
^ Good traits right there!
Hi JB,
Jerusalem = King of Jerusalem, that was the title
Antioch = Prince of Antioch, since it did become named a Principality, and the original Bohemund of the Italian Normans was in actuallity a King/Prince for all practical purposes but his title was Duke of Taranto
Any Holy Land City = just 'Lord of X city'
Tripoli = Count of Tripoli
I have, as you and others may have, a good list of 1st Crusaders' names and places of origin like Joun of Xville for example and the same for the Turks and Arabs and Fatamids. Duqaq of Damascus, Kerbogha of Aleppo, the Red Lion (Christian terminology, and I forget if this was Nur-ad-Din or not), etc. Many lesser known names too, for both Christians and Muslims to fill out the name roster.
BTW, Jingle-Bombs cracks me up, so do some of your avatars.

yea i think lotk , u should sticky this so it doesnt get forgoteen in the back of the forums
and so you can add these traits easily
This thread is important, but its not offical,we will collect all the traits/ancillaries when we start the work in RM3.
Maybe some kind of defender/attacker traits, like
"Defender of Rome" if the character has defended Rome from various invasions or "Defender of Latium(don't know the name)" if the character has defended the region from invasions.
Or "Conqueror of Rome" if character conquered Rome.
Maybe some similar things for Spies, like
"Knows Rome" if the spy has been to Rome a lot this trait could provide bonus to subtefuge if spy is spying in Rome a lot.Maybe the spy could retain this trait and get another like "Knows Paris" if he spies there a lot. These could be acuired by being trained in certain cities.
Or for Assassins
"Knows Arthur" if assassin had tried to assassinate Arthur a lot of times.Maybe a bonus to skill if assassin is trying to assassinate him. This would offset the bonus that the character gets after having too many assassination attempts. He would still be difficult to assassinate for youngsters
who's Arthur?
This site has all the retinue members from Medieval 2, as well as from several mods. Stainless Steel is especially interesting because it has titles for every region.
Nice website
Just a off-topic question
Does those cards ( adding Command or Command when defending walls) of a general really makes a difference in the battle? I played RTW for a year and never pay attention to any of those stuff. I may miss the important part of total war.
If Command has any importance? It adds to the morale and fighting ability of the soldiers, I believe.
