    Default No Wallace!

I am playing SS 5.1 with echards fix pack. I am England and have conquered the whole of the British isles and I am in the year 1300.

William Wallace has not appeared. Anyone else have this? Anyone know why?

I was kind of looking forward to annihalating the scottish savages.

Well if Scotland is dead that'll explain it. You can kill them off before he appears. Well i did.

Right, so Wallce only emerges if the Scottish faction has not been exterminated?

Yup, although it would be cool if he could appear

Even if Scotland are still alive, he may not appear at all -

The campaign script states that he will only spawn if Scotland are in need of him, for example if they have 3 towns or less, or at War with England etc.

On my campaign (I'm Portugal) - it is turn 96 and scotland own most of the British Isles, and parts of Flanders - Wallace still hasn't spawned.

To be honest even if he spawns soon, the units are outdated so he will be worthless.

In my campaign as english he came for sure. And it did hurt really bad.

I had the scots by their throats but 10 turns later i lost york. lol.

Our war went on for 30 years until i finally crushed them and made a vassal out of Mr.Wallace. hehe

So he comes sometimes i guess. It was very fun when he did come. Made it really hard.

PS: I did not really play "Vanilla Kingdoms" but how many factions got these heros ect?

We make war that we may live in peace.

I have his eccentric alterego, Willard Wellsworth, as a starting English character in my campaign. He's kicked some serious butt in two huge battles against fortified rebels...;-)

He's programmed to spawn if If it is after turn 70 and Scotland has less then 2 territories, if England attacks after turn 100 or just at turn 130. I believe he can only spawn once. Basically, as England one has to defeat Scotland before turn 70 to avoid dealing with Wallace.

I have, no lie, seen Wallace spawn about turn 25 in the unmodded game today. I was playing as the Irish, about turn 20 I had conquered england and then set my sights on scotland. One turn I took scotland's farther-south province, and that same turn I besieged Scotland's northern territory. Beginning of the next turn, Wallace spawned -- but his cause was short-lived, as I took scotland's last town right then.

I'll figure out some way to deal with him some day, or maybe there's no reason to bother, as rebels are fairly benign. But it would appear that he can spawn earlier than turn 70.

Unrelatedly in this campaign it's turn 33, the spaniards rudely attacked London with two units (Que??), so I went ahead and signed an alliance with france and am now in the works of invading Iberia and making a choke-point where the peninsula ends. Iberia is a good staging area for attacks on lucrative areas like sicily, italy, greece and various outlying isles. But I'm impressed that things seem to be happening in a rather unpredictable manner.

Wallace spawned for me also. Weird because just before that I watched Braveheart......:hmmm: I took Edinburgh and sent my army on the last town which did not have any troops in it, and after one turn William spawned with a full stack.

But I just assassinated him (I was bored LOL ), took the last empty town and their armies turned into rebels.
