    Default Diplomatic Relations Progression

Hi, I'm not sure if what I am experiencing is a bug or just a random game occurrence. I am running 5.1 with latest RR/RC.

I started the Early Campaign as Ireland and at around 12 turns into the game I realize that my starting standings with all the in-game factions have slowly moved up to Amiable. Even the England and the Muslim factions had their standings rising up. I have not made diplomatic contact with any of them either. Also just about every catholic faction had about 4-5 alliances. Just about every turn 4 new alliances formed and no wars broke out. All of it seemed really odd to me so I started a new Early Campaign as Lithuania.

During the Lithuania campaign I didn't do anything but proceed to the next turn. Like the previous, just about all catholic factions had 4-5 alliances made and no wars broke out. Also my relations soared with the Orthodox to Outstanding, and even the Templars where Good with me which does not add up.

Again, this could just be random game occurrence, but the massive early alliances seemed odd, as if I had a bug or something. Any advice?

Stop playing on easy? Stop allying with everybody on the map?

There is a section in the descr_faction_standing file the automatically makes other factions "like" small factions to try and make them "band together" against big factions. Lithuania starts with one province, so is the smallest of them all.... hence other factions will like you. If you want to change it, just conquer 4 or 5 territories. As far as all the Catholic factions, don't worry, that will get sorted out.... for the first 10 turns of the game, the AI is only allowed to attack rebels and not other factions, and they also are coded to agree to alliances much more readily. After turn 10 it is less so, and after turn 20 (I think), then they are *normal* for the rest of the game WRT alliances...

    Cheers!

PS Use Turbo's "Real Diplomacy" script, it will help this a lot....

Thanks, did not know that it was coded that way, it seemed different from 4.1. Also I wasn't the one allying with them, and it was on Hard/Hard.

I will try out Turbo's script

I don't understand what is happening. I am using Turbo's mod but everyone's relations are still rising. I was playing as the Knights Templar on H/H and by turn 15 I had Outstanding relations with every faction in-game including the Islamic Factions. I didn't even send diplomats to all of these factions.

Is it possible I installed Turbo's script wrong? I placed it in the mods\Stainless_Steel\data folder.
