    Default Recommended Campaigns/Factions?

    Hello everyone,

I'm relatively new to the Stainless Steel addon, and I'm looking for a faction to play, however, I'm not sure which to decide upon.

I enjoy the Pope politics of the Catholic Factions, the Jihads of the Islamic factions, and the 'east-meets-west' Orthodox factions, however, I cannot decide upon my next campaign. I was considering Russia or Poland, but really, I just want one that's enjoyable to play. If I could get your views on your favorite campaigns, ones you really had fun with, or that you've just started and you enjoy a great deal, I'd appreciate it.

i like Sicily b/c of their starting position is at the border of catholic and islam factions. You can always expand into France, milan, aragon, etc. and Moors. When you get bored, put some army together on a boat, ship them to Egypt and the holy lands and do some fighting there. (i did that on the first crusade against egyptian jerusalem, my army utterly got pwntd by jihad on jerusalem after i took it over XD)
On your PC, the units seem to perform quite poorly. I think there might be something nearby the PC that is causing this problem for you. You may need a mirror to find out what it is.

I guess for me its the Easterm Roman Empire. Wtih the exclusion from the pope and the turks crawling at your boarders.. you will have no time to rest. And oh there those damn Magyars who constantly atacking me from the west with multiple stack almost every turn. Then there's the Russian too. If you don't get there alliance fast, they will soon attack you. I suggest you start your campaign with the ERE to experience what SS is all about..

Byzantine. There's no Pope over your head, you have great starting position and wonderful roster.
