Hmmm... I had assumed that MTW2 took away the ability to designate the faction heir because, unlike with Rome, we were playing as dynastic monarchy's -- where feudal law of heredity was very, very, important.
So... on the Brittania campaign (first campaign I've played very long) when King Henry dies and Edward becomes King... the faction heir becomes some *adopted* (not a medieval tradition, but I'd assumed it just meant you brought them into the royal household as courtiers or trusted nobles) son of an adopted son of Henry. In other words, someone who would not have even the remotest chance of being in line for the throne under any even half-assed simulation of any system that actually existed. And Edward had a 12-year-old son, too!!!
(I also reloaded to try to keep the King alive longer, but he seems always to die on the same turn)
This is very, very broken.
Is there any way to fix it?
