Something on the family tree
On the family tree scroll, under the pictures of the family members, there is always either how good militarily (how many stars they have) or how pious they are (the number of rings they have). Do they mean something? And why they have either and not one consistent or both?
Also, right now, a regent is going to be appointed even though I have a prince of royal blood. (the regent was appointed before the prince turned 16). The regent (who is one of my powerful general) has very high piety, commandment and loyalty while the royal blood princes has almost nothing. Is the heir decided by piety and commandment? Because, first, the prince's commandment was being shown in the family tree (it was two) but then the piety was being shown (three) and the regent's piety is like 9 or so (it is being shown too).
Any help please?

Re: Something on the family tree
Governors show you their piety (the character with the highest piety is appointed governor).
Generals show you their command rating. So anyone who isn't governing will show you their command.
You can't select your heir so you'll have to go with wath the game gives you.
