Default 5.4 made the turks unplayable

5.4 made the turks unplayable it's a catch 22. You can't send your career governors which spawn near your capital because all family members are gathered there, you have to detour them 6 turns trip through armenian lands to build anything, then you end up with 10k debth and so no money to build anything.

Also the skelton army thing won't work because of the 60% Muslim needed in order to fix that you need to build a.... but than again read above

i won't go for dropping provinces early game

Rep, hey I know you're getting alot of mixed feelings about the new rules you've implemented. Although this guy has a valid point, I love the new ideas. I mean.. ya when you get 50 territories it's gonna be pretty rough, and people aren't gonna be able to fly across the map conquering n00bish factions with their all-powerful stacks of top-class warriors! Pfft.. good! Those lil pricks!!! Work for it!!!!

900 turns? Awesome, I'm playing as Flanders and I LOVE inching my way into a true power. Things are going so so slow and I love it, every little thing you do matters more and I can really get into it when the Comp gives me hell.

i am not mocking about the new ideas, they work for many kingdoms, though not for the turks. it's just a question if your individual provinces are connected properly.

Though i have to admit is becoming almost a masochist game at VH/VH unless you have a nice low tier roster

Could this not be resolved by significantly increasing the movement points allocated to mounted units?

Perhaps, double or tripple the current pool?

I've not played the turks, but sounds like just a simple fix in the strat file is all you need. Adjust the generals starting locations so they are closer to cities without being conjested at the one?

I played as Turks and I dont had any problems with them. Turks are hard yes, but not unplayable, they are just VERY HARD .

    i agree
the turks are very hard and should be so. they historically had quite a bit of fun building their empires, & if it werent for a few truly great rulers, quite possibly could have faded away into forgotten lore
    If you aren't careful...

    ...THIS will happen

They were no fools they would keep their supply lines open if they existed. This problem is caused by a vanilla problem to squeeze the Sultinate of Rum together with the Great Seljuks into one faction of Turks. Well either make them 1 empire or have 2 factions, I know this second one is not going to happen because the community wants insignificant christian states rather than a more historical approach.

That's fine with me it is an history altering game after all though having KOJ, Georgia, Armenia, Teutonics Byzantium + Crusading armies as potential enemies is fine though the Turkish Empire were on the advance not the Christians so give them at least a connection between their lands rather than have them to defend with peasants and militia against steamrolling knights of whatever.

And yes before you mention it I love BC as well as I do DLV, they are entirely different games though.

i meant the achievements of the seljuks & ottomans in reality, not as portrayed by the game

Picking factions for a mod is just one of those things that is never going to please everyone. Personally, I like playing as " Small insignificant kingdoms" cause I like the challenge. They have a lot of appeal for experienced players. I'd play as the 'Sultanate of Rum". That sounds fun!

This reminds me as playing the Teutonic Order. Does anyone else suicide their general in Acre, disband the army and give away the castle on the first turn or post massive pointless losses and a potential faction leader on the other side of the map?

I noticed that when I do this, I have twice the amount of income as usual.
