    Default New Unit Cards maybe?

    I've been playing around with Milkshape and Photoshop and I've done some new small cards since I didn't like to have them different than the real thing, I intend to make them all as soon as 6.0 arrives, you can see below some examples.

    Any good, or just drop it?

    Another thing - Teutonics, as well as English and Scots will get new skins in 6.0. =\

    Didn't noticed someone was making this already , when 6.0 arrives I'll talk to Sher Khan maybe I can help him doing some factions.

    Drop him a line now - he will probably appreciate easing his job. Actually, the new unit cards are very needed, for now just stay out of Teutonics, England, Scotland and Genoa, who will get some new skins in 6.0 and Turks, as they are already mostly done by Sher Khan. He started doing Byzantines, but dunno how far has he went now. Make sure to read this topic (essentially only the last pages) to look at the style we choose and his examples.

    Also, you can PM King Kong, as he needs new icons now, so he can include them in final 6.0.

    P.S. Nice job, but I'd like a little more variety - both in angles and poses, take a look at Sher Khan's ones to see what I have in mind. =)

    I really like this new unit cards HRE : + rep for his author.
    I hope SS 6.0 will contain new units cards for many factions, especially for France

    If someone will draw them, give out for free use and KK will like and include them - then yes, but as no one has suggested them to KK - no. =(

    I hope that Norway, denmark and Ireland will get new skins.

    Actually I would be fine with Denmark getting the skins back of an older version, the yellow and blue looks hideous.

    About the variety that's very easy, it's just a question of defining the position for each type of unit
    example:
    Gunners = sided.
    Pikes = A little bit smaller so we can see the spears
    Dismounted Knights = Front so we can see the shield
    ... .

    I made them all like they are now because I really like to see them from the front but I have no problems in changing them.


    About making all the cards for 6.0 with Sher Khan's well, even if KK would like me to do it it's impossible to make it on time since making all those cards with quality takes a lot of time. The ones you have in the download link took me no less than 14 hours and those are just 33 cards, the best would be to make them after 6.0 is out, I believe that in 2 or 3 weeks they can be finished.

    I didn't tried any Cavalry unit yet but I suspect that it will be a lot harder since I will probably have to import the horses first and the riders after.


    By the way, don't paste the cards directly to your SS folder since I'm using a modded SS for myself which includes more variety in the units as well as some Teutonic Skins (for the hre) made by another artist, if possible tell me what you think later.

    No, not preset poses/angles, just random - I already said: look at Sher Khan's released ones - they came out after a lot of discussion on how they would look best and we found out the best scale, position/angle variety and other stuff. All knights from front and gunners from side would be not only boring, but we will also mistake them time after time... Example of perfect set:

    This is really great work my friend

    The old unit cards became really boring, especially since factions like 'Byzantium' hardly had any purple units because of the awesome modding work, yet still had the cheesy unit cards

    I will be downloading ^_^

    First of all ty for all the nice comments, I'm glad to be able to share my work with you all.

    Now to the questions:

    Not yet but I will speak to him once 6.0 is out, if he's interested we can divide factions between each other, there's no need to speak so soon, KK may change units and textures until the release so we better play safe and work once 6.0 is out.

    Please do not drop it! I was really hoping someone besides Sher Khan would make new unit cards, since this is really too much work for one person and SS is really lacking new cards.
    I'm not drooping I do intend to make them all KK but this unit cards to be done properly take a lot of time so I prefer to make them after the release, I work better without pressure. In the mean time you could tell me if there is any safe faction from 5.1 to work from, or if instead all factions will get new textures

    As I said above I'm using SS 5.1 modded by myself, I've joined the Hre and the Teutonics in one faction for faster ending turns, than I've merged Lusted's MOD which seems to be very stable with no ctds so far, all of this combined with SS's units as well as some Kingdoms features, as for the textures, they are from Rex Cobalt I got them from here:

    They are not totally his since I've made some changes to the textures/models but most of it it's your work combined with his.

    btw: I didn't see 6.0 preview yet but from 5.1 I really think that the Moors and the Egyptians need new textures, the quality of the European textures is away better.

    Another thing I've noticed was that the normal maps of the Lithuanian units should be brighter, you can easily notice that the Lithuanian units are away darker than the rest.

    Just two suggestions for you to think about if you have time for it of course, nevertheless, ty for your hard work KK, Stainless Steel is an impressive modification for our game, we all owe you a lot.

    I'm always happy to share a work load, of course!

    So far I might return and redo some Turks units, and one or two Byzantine units, etc. I also need to brighten them up and make some cavalry cards as well.
