Default I am all sorts of sad

I've been playing MTW2 (vanilla) for a while now, but I never really managed to fall in love with any of my generals/family members. I always saw them as tools. Sometimes they had amusing qualities (i.e. a penchant for altar boys, yet a mistress would be part of his retinue).

And besides, they all generally looked like maladjusted monkeys with mullets.

Until I met Perrot the Wrathful. He would be the ONLY character I've really kept an interest in, and even roleplayed as.

I wish I could simply post a screenshot and reveal him to you, but A) I'm using a Mac (running MTW on bootcamp) and B) I don't know how to take screenshots. I've tried downloading a program but it didn't work and I limply gave up.

But, in the midst of my French campaign, I began to take notice of an exceptional young general. For one, he had great potential to become an awesome general. And for two, he looked normal. Not only that, he was handsome (for a MTW2 character).

I put him to good use.

I was at war with Milan (of course, who isn't?), and sent him the front. He quickly smashed any and all Milanese forces that came his way, even taking Milan and Genoa. He exterminated the faction at the siege of Bern. That would be the beginning of his campaign. He would go on to defeat and exterminate the Holy Roman Empire, Venice and take out the Byzantine provinces of Thessalonika and Corinth.

By then the Mongols attacked me, and who would I call to attack them? That's right. I sent him to Constantinople, and he met three separate Mongol armies en route, smashing them completely. By now he was 55 and at the capture of Constantinople would be his final act.

But it was not meant to be. After defeating the third Mongol army, the cowards assassinated him.

Of course, I'm going to finish what he started and take Constantinople (and Nicea, probably). I think I'll rename Nicea to Perrotville, or Perropolis, or Perrotine or something (if you've got any suggestions, fire away).

How about you? Have you had any similar experiences?

By the way - his stats:

Click the citys name in the city tab (where you recruit and build buildings from)

If you like roleplaying, downloading Deus Lo Vult mod might be a good idea. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=309

I think you mean Waterloo, Tweety. Anyway I'm sure we'll all have our fix of Napoleonic heroes/ villains when Empires is released until then we'll just have to stick to the Middle Ages.

I'm in agreement with some others in this thread BlackBart213. You should consider picking up your quill and adding to the great AAR's we have at TWC.

I definitely considered it. I just need to find a screen grab program that actually works

Just press Print Screen and look in your M2TW Directory, there in the TGA file.

I'm running bootcamp on my MacBook pro. No print screen button.

    Merged~Harry Lime

I may try Command+shift+3 (Mac's Print screen command)...it may work. It's worth a shot. I'll test it next time.

No point saying use the edit function... oops there I go.
Anyway, I'm unfamiliar with Apple's but I'm assuming file structure is the same, also there might be a line in the prefencences.txt file that chooses a screenshot hotkey.

Pfffffffffft the edit button is overrated

My merge button however is underrated~Harry Lime

Hmm, any suggestions on which screen grab program works best?

Have you tried going into options and looking through the hotkey assignments? I don't recall if there's a screen shot hotkey assigned by the game or not.

I don't think there is, and the .txt file never changes, (which in my experience in-game menus do)

I play the Broken crescent mod, as the Turks, i had a mighty kickass boy named Kaykaus (yes, if you visit the BC forum regulary, you know him)
he was just my favourite character but died charging a freaking militia.

he was 46 years old when he died (or when i last checked...)
may you rest in peace Kaykaus

FRAPS, search wikipedia. Specify you're own key. 9not sure if it's compatible with Apple though)

That's the point of this thread...normally I don't care about these characters, and for once I finally managed to care.
