    Default lastest rtr mod

i've been looking at rtr and i don't know which one to download, i also don't know which one is the best or more recent. so can someone help in telling me wat is rtr platinum, and which is the newest rtr for the whole map

it would also help if you directed me to info for that mod and previews
    thanx

ps: i suggest you make it a bit more organized for newcomers

Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Well, if you are referring to the map that is previewed, that is for RTR VII which is yet to be released (it is in the making). I would either download RTR Platinum 1.9 or RTR Gold 6.0

To be honest, I have played both and cannot really tell much of a difference
between the two, but I would just go ahead and download Platinum 1.9 because there are probably some minor problems that were fixed since 6. I would also recommend downloading the 4 turn per year mod, found in the RTR Platinum subforum. There are many other small mods that people have done that you can add on to 1.9 Platinum such as ExRM 3.2 extended realism mod which (I haven't played it but...) just basically improves upon Platinum 1.9 and balances gameplay a bit more along with adding back the British faction(not sure of the exact name), however to download this you must have RTW: BI installed on your computer.

Yes, Platinum 1.9 is the newest, but once RTR VII comes out, it will hopefully blow all the previous mods out of the water =)

Also if you wish you could download The Iberian Conflict, which is a mini-mod preview to the upcomming RTR VII on top of RTR 6 or Platinum 1.9

Hope that helps instead of confusing you more

RTR VII The Iberian Conflict (TIC) is the most recent RTR mod that has been released. However, as it's only got two playable factions Carthage and Celtiberia it may not be to everyone's liking. It is a very good game and the AI acts intelligently on the battlefield. It is a very good idea how much improvement that RTR VII will have over any RTR 6 based game (which includes RTR PE which is a port plus mods to RTR 6 Gold).

If you want the latest with the full campaign then RTR PE is the way to go. If you have it I would suggest playing it with the RTWTW_ALX exe.

    no its perfect, thanx

is BI necessary for platinum 1.9 or just the other mini mods for it?

No BI is not necessary for 1.9 It is, however, necessary for The Iberian Conflict or ExRM 3.2. Personally i do not have BI installed at the moment, mostly because I'm too lazy to look for the disc, and I can use it perfectly fine. For 1.9 however, you MUST have RTW patched to 1.5 BEFORE you install 1.9

Definitely go for Platinum 1.9, with BI if possible. The reason is better AI and better balancing on the battlefield. Gold is based on the obsolete 1.2 patch which creates irritating problems like the infamous save load bug/feature. I haven't touched anything running on 1.2 for years and never regreted it.

If anyone interested I will upload some files which makes RTR PE 1.9 works with alex.exe (with few changes).

It depends on if anyone is interested in it though. Also the same thing for TIC after patch 1.1 is out.

Yes, please - it would be very useful.

I personally still play RTR PE with the Alex.exe. I've not removed the immortal bits for this game but have done so when I play Roma Surrectum. The people in that forum have no end of problems trying to edit the files to add the required bits in (as supplied by EB).

I have changed bit and pieces though in trying to minimize the 'black hordes' and strenghten a bit starting rebels, so it basically a new mod, instead of just making RTR PE playable with alex.exe

I've also changed the units used in CTD fix to be generals. It's still expensive though.

Buy Alexander Total War expansion. Technically the AI is more advance since it's version 1.9 (RTW latest is 1.5 while BI is 1.6).

However, the obvious differences (for me) that I found is the alliance is more better than RTW or BI base mods.
