I dislike all religions, and since Islam is a religion that counts as a strike against it.
And what I like about it... I haven't (yet) had any Muslims knock on my door trying to convert me, so I guess it has that going for it.
What i hate about islam-
Complete and full emphasis on religion being the large part of your daily life, its not nearly as much of the Add-on to life that most other religions are and it sort of makes it hard for muslims to integrate at times or to be comftorable around other people with differing religions.
What i like about Islam-
I like the fact that they dont agree with much of what their people do. Being islam doesnt automatiaclly make you a supporter of what other islamic people do in the name of islam. which i see as a plus in comparison to almost all christians or jews banding together defending a cause usually.

i am talking about Islam being perfect, you can find Islam's Perfectiveness by learning more about it. why do you include the terrorists in Islam, if you had more knowledge on Islam you wouldn't do that. If a person of a Certain Faith kills a hundred people and says he was following his religious book, would you believe him (who has killed a hundred people) or would u believe the person who follows the Certain Faith correctly and just asks you to learn more about the faith and find what it really means. Learning about a particular religion doesn't hurt.
Dont even go there.
I suggest the mods declare this a 100% on topic post to deter the conversation going off topic.
People should state one thing they dislike about islam and one thing they like. Thats it nothing more nothing less and no arguing with others over their opinion

Hates - The hatred and domination of women; the contempt for free speech; the pollution of the rule of law with religiosity.
Likes - That crazy wailing noise made by those minarets which always provides the background-noise in Hollywood action movies whenever the bad guy appears for the first time.

You can have up to four wives. Menage au quatra.![]()
Hates - So many interpret it as a barbaric religion whilst knowing nothing about it. I am also not crazy about covering women up, but I don't think it's an oppressive matter. The whole God aspect is probably the main factor from me actually being one.
Likes - The fact that they stress mercy and peace. The fact that other followers of the book can go to heaven. The toleration of other religions. The fact that they elevated the status of women in Arabia, and gave more rights to them than Judaism or Christianity managed to do.
I like that it covers other religions and in contrary to others it respects them.
I hate that majority of it's followers understand little about Islam and that certain people use Islam as a tool to control people twisting everything about it.

"We're nice mainly because we're rich and comfortable."
I don't like the fact you can't drink alcohol or eat certain meats. Can have four wives but there's no fun without the booze and some good ol' ribs.
Hope that what I said wasn't a generalization. If so, my apologies.
I like how when they read the Koran, they sing it, since its really a book of poetry. There is something calming about hearing the verses being sung.
The sound that comes from the minarets would always make me feel alone.

Jews do that too actually (though you may have known that)
Sepheradic singing can seriously be like actual singing.

I'm not particularly fond of religion on its own merit. If a religion causes no outward harm, I feel that is a good, and if it causes an actual good, by charity, a perceivable "good" outlook on life and towards others then I would think it is good.
However, that is ideal. All things have both good and bad. Islam included.
One thing that religion has given us is some of the most beautiful devotional works. This image here even moves my atheist ass.I like how when they read the Koran, they sing it, since its really a book of poetry. There is something calming about hearing the verses being sung.
