Lazy AI ?

I have been playing with the Romans for some time now, on H/VH and i have noticed something strange with the AI, and wanted to check if its just in my game.
When i look in the faction graph, i see that my faction line is going skyhigh while the other factions are staying on low level or just sinking

Is that a normal situation related to the crappy RTW AI ? do you have this major difference between the factions ?

What version of RTW are you playing the game with? Also are you using 0 or 1 turn recruitment? Exactly what year are you up to?

I've been playing with the RTWTW_ALX exe and the AI factions are not sitting on their hands in any stretch of the imagination. I play on M campaign difficulty (that's hard enough for me to be honest).

I don't play with the RTWTW_ALX exe and the AI is very aggressive. I play on Hard/Medium and thats enough for me. I always have factions skyrocketing in the faction graph. I play on 0 tuen recuritment. Maybe thats why.

well. it BI.exe for me, and it ok, but for some very odd reason the AI just dumb.
I am in 525 i think, playing on 1 turn recruitment, and the game is totaly unbalanced !

Maybe its couse i have installed the new spirit patch on an old campaign ?

I got 1 turn recruitment, normal exe, which means no bi or alex, but the only ones with big bars, are now pontus pergamum and egypt, and me

romans. Since I use the old spread coughs on my enemy before attacking them, and I seriously mean WAY WAY before attacking them, the time around the plague of macedon takes place which is "early" somewhat. and is now 530, around 508 I still had a few cities in greece with plagues, and spies going around, literally wrecking havoc with population, the city of argos, olympia and thermon, never got beyond large town, beacuse not only wars they had but the plague depleted them, sparta although is huge city is now down to around 7000. lol the funniest part was epirus, that is how I stoped that stampiding bull, the armies gone, leaders all but two all died form plague except like 1. Gota think like today

is around 530, since I took carthage,and carthge moved to carthgo nova for a new home they been on and off with iberia, and since I want iberia but I dont wana fight my ally, I beenw aiting til this moment, carthage has all the towns except asturica, the capital of the iberians, all the towns have had plague since the conquest in greece, so its beenw hat, 20 yars of plague after plageu, the last cities are toletum and some one to the north, the rest are washed away, besides the fact both factions bleed each other white.

now I can take Iberia and force carthage into protectorate since they only hold numidia in africa, and take all iberia for me

6 legions waiting to go into iberia,( iplay againw ith 1 turn recruitment).

So fun to be political, let someone else do the fighting and BAM blitzkreik or w/e u call it against the weaken cities no harm done, legions get some experience, but now I can concentrate in asia minor with that growing pontus.... well is my fault pergmamum was growing so I sent 8 spies with plague to wreak havoc for the past 8 years

and egypt took advantage as well as pontus

Looks pretty balanced, in my campaigns I usually have a faction climbing up the graph to the top, and the rest at bottom

I think the romans are slouching a bit

It's 540 in mine and I've got all of Gaul and Britian, and I"m sitting on the coast of the Black Sea.

There's a bit of random chance with some of the factions, and you went after one of the factions that always does well, Macedon, early in your game (which may have been intentional. It'll be a lot different when your armies are more spread out (like mine, damn Germans back stabbed me and took one city by storm with 5 stacks of troops, god did THAT burn). Macedon is easy to take early because it is so concentrated, and you're not getting ambushed in the woods by hundreds of German berserkers.
