    Icon1 Succession Game

    Succession Game

As their doesn’t seem to be a succession game currently going on, I suggest we start one. The idea is we each have either a set number of turns or ruler and play the game, then pass it on to the next player, I believe there are ones on Rome: Total War if you look over there.
Please vote in the poll for your favourite faction (assuming we play vanilla), then state your preferences for these categories:
    Modded(please state) or Unmodded
Ruler or Set Number of Turns?(please state)

There was a game about different kinds of rulers of a faction - everyone took their family members, and when the faction leader died the old leader would pass the game to the new leader.

That'd be better idea imo - it would bring more depth into the game, seeing different players play in different ways, such as being evil, good, peaceful or waging wars on every front.

Well, since one ruler can reign for 1/3 of a campaign (I usually win the game with the third king unless I kill them on purpose for being mad, gay or whatever) it would be a very limited game for others.

I do propose a wider solution, however.
Let one person take control over one character. Every character would have control over the settlement he is governing, as we all know the King's will was not always listened to by everyone.

Designating people to control ingame characters and those characters' exact rights and duties would have to be thought over and decided upon by the thread author. It's late and I don't really have the clear mind to do it now. A few suggestions come to my mind by now:

    - the person controlling the character who is the leading general in battle actually fights the battle. Other characters that are in the fight may, however, tell what they want their own bodyguard units to do, for instance a character may refuse to fight in a battle even though he is in the stack; in such case the commander should make the unit withdraw or stay behind.
    - the person controlling the character designates who (from the forum users) takes control over the character's children. This would let "clans" or "families" form.
    - the King's controller decides whether someone is behaving well or not; if a person is pissing the king off and disrespects his orders, the King's controller has the right to use the console commands give_trait and remove_trait to add/remove loyalty traits. If someone controls his character in a disloyal way, then his character gets disloyal traits - and may so turn into a rebel. In that case control over that character is lost (or optionally any battle this character's stack would fight with our faction's army would be fought via multiplayer with units copied from the campaign map, faction's representant vs rebel's controller)

    and so on..

    It could be cool, methinks.

by the way, I'd say we try Hungary. Their unit roster is well balanced and their position is nice, in the middle between Venice, HRe, Poland, huge rebel lands to the northeast, byzantines to the south and the Constantinople, which typically gets jihadded all the time ;p.

We could, but they take up huge space, there's one on the Org which has been going for a year or so. If enough people want to do one we do one. @your leader problem, that's why I suggested say 20 turns each.

At the mo were in limboland, hope to clear up by 13th March.
