Default Question about devastation and corruption

I was wondering, does anyone know how to combat devastation and corruption?

I heard that devastation happens when you have enemy troops in your territory. Never heard anything about corruption though. I was thinking that maybe it happen when you have foreign merchants in your territory or maybe spies in your territory? Anyone knows something?

    Thanks

It's got a lot to do with the personality of your governor. I move corrupt ones out of the city to another less important settlement if I'm short of family members or to the front to be a battlefield officer if not.

You will have devastation after a long siege as well as when enemy or rebel troops are in your province.

Generals affect corruption, giving more or less depending on their traits and ancillaries but the distance from the capitol will affect corruption as well.

Corruption is caused by distance to capital. You can build buildings with a law bonus that lowers corruption in a settlement.

Governors can cause also corruption. They get all kind of negative traits like big spenders when your treasury gets above 50000 florins. Just remove them from the city and use them as heavy cavalry.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

Ok, thanks. But I just noticed that when I put into queue a Council Chamber in Syracuse (Sicily Island) a flashing corruption came out. isn't the council chamber suppose to help fight corruption? or maybe the council members are corrupt?

    I'm confused.

Are you sure that it ADDED the flashing part - maybe it just shows it as dissappearing corruption.

No, I am pretty sure it is a flashing hand taking money. I can see it right now. Take the council out of the queue, the flashing on out. Now put it on again, it is back.

Maybe the council only helps the public order and not corruption.
