Currently enjoying The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One. The first book on Sci-Fi I've seriously read, it's been a good intro to the famed genre. With stories from luminaries like Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke, one couldn't get a better initiation into Old School out of this world yarns. Though not as exhilarating and as compelling as Pulp and the Classics, it converted me to the genre and I look forward to purchasing more books of it's kind.

I just starting Interesting Times (3rd Rincewind, i think) and although I miss Twoflower, it's good so far (page 50).
Anyway know about the film airing on Sky One Easter Day? (Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic?)

Terry Pratchett is always a joy (although you probably have to be English to understand him), I try not to think of that day, hopefully far into the future, when I no longer have any of his books left to read.

'Do Ants Have Arseholes?' by Jon Butler and Bruno Vincent
    Here's an extract
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Are there any undiscovered colours?
    – question courtesy of Sir Michael Cummings, Biggin Hill
I have been furiously mixing paints ever since this
question appeared in last month’s issue, and am
astonished and proud beyond measure to be able to
announce that I have discovered what I believe to be an
entirely new colour! By mixing blue paint and red paint, I
have come up with a wonderfully rich, regal hybrid that is
somehow warmer and more mellow than blue, and cooler
and more elegant than red. I call it ‘Simon’, because my
name is in fact Simon. I am enclosing a swatch of pure
Simon for you to reproduce in your magazine – perhaps on
    the cover??!?

[Ed note: We’re not entirely sure, Simon, but we think you
might have made purple. Thanks for trying, though.]

Patrick O'Brian's excellent Aubrey-Maturin series. I got the complete series for my birthday in a beautiful boxed set and I can't stop reading, they're just too awesome. I'm currently about halfway in "Blue at the Mizzen" and I'm already feeling regret that I'm nearing the end of this 6000-odd page masterpiece.

    Also on my nightstand are:
Luc Huyse, "Over Politiek", an analysis of Belgian politics since 1945.
Raymond Van Uytven, "Geschiedenis van de dorst" (History of thirst), describing the drinking habits in the Low Countries throughout history.
And finally: Tom Clayton & Phil Craig, "The End of the Beginning", for when I'm in the mood for something light and exciting.

Siggy pic courtesy of the uncomparably artistic Atterdag.
