I am currently reading Pyramids by Terry Pratchett.

I like humour that sneaks up on me slightly after I have read the actual text...

An example: Two embalmers are chatting while preparing the dead Pharoah for mummification. One asks the other if this had been a good King.

The other pauses with a jar in his hand, seeming to give their conversation some thought for the first time.

"Never think about it 'till they come down here. I suppose he was better than most. Nice pair of lungs. Clean kidneys. Good big sinuses, which is what I always look for in a King".

Very nice - I've recently ordered a book called "Into the Land of Bones: Alexander the Great in Afghanistan." I look forward to reading it.

"The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane" - Another of Robert E. Howard's creations (creator of Conan). About a Puritan who travels the world righting evils with no apparent motive. Ex-Inquisitor and ex-witch hunter. Armed with a wide rapier and two blunderbusses as well as a Ju-Ju staff given to him by N'Longa the shaman...

But all's not well. apparently theyre making a movie out of it starring James Purefoy (which i dont mind, a young Solomon Kane aint bad.) But like all hollywood movies, theyre going to botch up the original stories and screw up the character.. I REALLY HATE hollywood sometimes...

    2) Re-reading the Illuminatus! trilogy by Shea and R.A.W.
    3) Morals and Dogma, by Albert Pike.
    4) The Secret Teachings of all Ages, by Manly P. Hall.
    5) Re-reading the Chung Kuo Octology, by David Wingrove.

....and 6) an ultra-stupid Mack Bolan book when I'm on the crapper in the mornng.

The Brothers Karamazov isn't very long at all. Try reading War and Peace and [I]Remembrance of Things Past[/I, the latter of which comes in at 3000 pages.
