    Cannibal Corpse...

I recently read some lyrics and watched some videos and they might be the grossest band I have ever seen in my life. Thoughts...any other bands that trump corpse?

Impaled Nazarene; never liked the band other than in cases of a good laughter with friends.

Impaled Nazarene have for most of their history displayed extreme Finnish nationalism (for instance in their song Total War - Winter War about the Soviet-Finnish war in 1939 and 1940). Besides being nationalistic, they can also be considered homophobic because of their song Zero Tolerance on Nihil and strongly anti-communistic as exemplified in their song Healers of the Red Plague on Rapture and the above mentioned Total War - Winter War, and even Nazi-inspired since there are some references to Nazi ideas in their lyrics: for instance a sentence from an infamous speech Goebbels delivered in 1943 is used at the beginning of Total War - Winter War (Do you want total war?, see Total War) and references to the infamous Arbeit macht frei are made in the song Zum Kotzen. However, in a 2006 interview singer Mika Luttinen stated that he does not consider himself a nationalist or even patriotic, and that he would never support an extreme right-wing party.[1]

Other lyrical structures revolve around war and all things Satanic, though much of them can be considered rather comical or tongue-in-cheek. The band has also stated that at least one song on every album is to have the word "Goat" in it somewhere (examples: "Goat Sodomy", "Goat Vomit and Gas Masks", "Sadogoat", etc).

Impaled Nazarene's most recent album was banned for sale in several of the nations in the European union. Mika Luttinen stated as a reaction to this "it seems that basic freedoms such as freedom of publishing and freedom of speech, which are supposed to be supplied under the European union, are no longer available to us. Thanks for ****ing deceiving everyone." The European Union merely did this due to the supposed Nazi association of the lyrics and Mika has refuted time and again that the lyrics have any Nazi influences. Despite the ban, several of the countries who voted for it still allow active distribution of Impaled Nazarene albums. The only country that has enforced the ban so far is Germany.

GG Allin and the Murder Junkies. Unlike these bands that just pretend to try to shock, GG Allin wasn't pretending. And poseurs who do "radical" things like sticking their microphones down their pants pale beside GG Allin who stuck his microphone ... actually, you probably don't want to know. Luckily for everyone he died of an overdose before he could fulfill his vow to commit suicide on stage. Because he probably would have.

Yes, but they happily admit that their songs and act are just that - an act. Allin's lyrics are similarly vile, except he lived them as closely as he could. He wasn't pretending for an audience; mainly because he barely even had an audience - his "music" was hilariously bad and not too many people went to the violent brawls that were his "shows" because (i) they were held in abandoned buildings and clubs no-one had heard of and (ii) you were likely to be splattered in bodily fluids of various vile kinds.

The worst thing you'd get on you at a Cannibal Corpse gig is perhaps beer and maybe some sweat from teenaged suburban metal fans.

I voted for bad since their music is dreadful.
There are far better bands out there.
As for their lyrics and all that, CC are pretty tame really.
There are bands out there with far more gruesome lyrics then CC.

As pointed out CC is just a show and go for shock value they are no more disturbing or sick then say Stephen King or Clive Barker or any horror movie. Now disturbing would be the band Mayhem. A band where member tried to slit his wrist to kill himself, didnt work so he blew his head off with a shot gun. When rest of band found his body did they call the police? No they rearranged the body and took a picture for use on an album cover. Few years later their guitar player was stabbed 20+ times by another (infamous Varg Vikernes) and died. Varg was sentence to jail for the murder but (real great justice system Norway) he was granted a temporary release from prison and was found with a car loaded with an automatic rifle, gun, gas mask, bunch of knives and a fake passport. Needless to say he is back in jail and of this is after they all burnt down some churches for giggles.

Cannibal Corpse is disturbing and disgusting but Norwegian black metal bands are plain crazy too.

I mean come on one guy tried to kill himself by cutting his wrist in the middle of the woods but it took to long so he went to his home took a shotgun and put it in his mouth

Is it Rammstein where the lead-singer pisses on the audience?
I don't mean that he's a bad singer, just that he sometimes whips it out and sprays down the audience...

I could be thinking of the wrong name, btw.

edit: ah, after a quick search, it seems he merely imitates this process through use of a rubber appliance and a hose.. (and a pump, one would hope)

They do seem to have some crazy live gigs though.
