    Default Corruption? . . .

Hello Thar, I was just playing my Moor campaign and I'm about 105 turns into my Campaign and I was looking at my Financial Tab and I noticed that Corruption was taking 6500 Gold away PER turn, Any way to reduce this number?

    Help is Much appreciated. =]

You could play around with changing your capital. Corruption is essentially about how far a city is from the capital I believe. Certainly if you've expanded quite a bit, shifting your capital can make a real difference to your profit. (Again I think mainly by reducing corruption.)

Generals governing your cities can also be making a difference, many of yours might be bent in some way, but even if they are, you're still usually better off leaving them to govern your top cities.

Unfortunately though, corruption is the cycle of life.

(But going around saying - "I'm corrupt, therefore I live" as profound as it might be doesn't pull the babes... well, not the sort I was looking for.)

Any bonus to law (from buildings or characters) will lower corruption in that city. Otherwise, it's all about how far it is from your capital.

Town halls and (city) barracks give law bonusses.

... and so you should max the town hall building line to reduce corruption effectively.

I have a question: Playing the moors, I have captured most of Iberia. Planning to assault the Scotland next. Distance from the capital would be great. Would corruption be a major problem?

no, the scottish are far too simple comparing to your arabian officals for bribery and corruption issues

yes of course you will loose some money to corruption, but who cares?! usually you have more money than you can spend anyway and if not go and sack London

lol thanks guys, I had a hunch Law would have something to do with It...

I should probably change my capital from Lisbon to something into the center of the Empire lol. At the moment I control all the land from Lisbon to the Italian Peninsula so the distance is hella far from all my capital to other cities >.>

well if you use a lot of merchants a far far away captiol is good for their profits. so may change it, but check if it got better or worse with a more centralized captiol
