SS not for Kingdoms?

O.k, firstly, I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I forgot about these forums for almost 9 months (basically before kingdoms was realeased).

Anyway, I was wondering if Stainless Steel is only being developed for Kingdoms now? any answers would be much appreciated.

What do you mean only for Kingdoms? Do you mean you have to have Kingdoms installed to play SS 6.0? Because if that is the question I don't know. Maybe we should have a FAQ for 6.0

Yeah, I mean will I need kingdoms installed to play any new SS- such as 6.0- after 5.0 was only for kingdoms.

An FAQ probably would be a good idea though- especially for people as accident-prone with technology as me!

The development work that is being done ie 5.x and 6.x is all based on having kingdoms installed. So as far as I am aware there is no program to upgrade 4.1 to a newer version suitable for non-kingdoms players.

KK mentioned something about a non-Kingdoms version update after 6.0 will be released.

Kingdoms is only like 30 bucks, not much if you ask me. And there is other ways of getting it as well for free but I will not talk about that here as it is against the rules.

as an off-topic question just how good is kingdoms?
is it completly (or at least reasonably) different from M2TW because I could be tempted...

Well, kingdoms itself is reasonable. However it's all about the mods that you can play with it and the new mod possibilities.

When Empires comes out, you should be able to have at least 30 bucks even when you buy Kingdoms I hope?

The pains of being a student mate- I could probably afford it, but even then, I would struggle to find more than a few hours a week to play it

What I am trying to say is that although I really liked Kingdoms, if you don't, Stainless Steel 5.1 (6.0 in a short while) will certainly be worth your 30 bucks.

Just try to limit your expenses a bit and it will be fine.

Empires is still at least a year away so it might be too early to worry about it.

Kingdoms is alright. Although you cant play it like one huge map like in SS. Also there is a lot of bugs that needs to be fixed, however I was reading CA has ONE last patch in testing (been there for like a month in a half now) and will release it when it has passed QA.
