    Default my grand campaign question?

    wat up

So im playing as sicily and its about turn 40 but i only got 8 settlements. The reason i only got 8 is because i have been focusing on building my economy and i did.I have and average of 15000 each turn. Now im trying to build up and army to attack. So my qustions are "Am i ok having 8 settlements at turn 40?" "Could i still win the long grand campaign?" "Should I restart and attack more?" or just give me some tips.Sia.peace out.

    you are doing fine.

there are still enough turns left to "win" the game easily.

what you basically did was to go what some here call one of the most interesting ways to play the game, as "turtleing" as it is called allows the AI to at least put up a little bit more resistance.

and, you will find that the grand campaign winning conditions aint really difficult to achieve. once you get going with 2 to 5 full stacks you can steamroll everything most likely anyway similar to the mongols.

Personally I have different winning conditions than the grand campaign sets. Most of the time campaigns get boring after 100 turns and I start a new campaign or reload an old safe game and go another route. Trying to carve out "historically" accurate empires, or roleplaying some character...

Yeah, you are completely fine and it is a solid strategy. In fact, you will find that because of the AI advantages in several areas many of the cities you now conquer will be more advanced than you probably would have gotten them. The easiest thing to do now would be to either wait and join in a war against someone who is losing or get the Pope to call Crusade on someone close by and take 3-4 of their cities with stacks that have no upkeep. I have done the exact campaign you are doing (Sicily, turtled in the boot and Tunis) and waited for Venice to go after Hungary and taken Venice, Florence and Bologna from them in one turn. You will be fine, just park a few stacks with catapults in boats and wait for a weak moment...

yeah you are ok - I usually have less provinces by turn 40. first of all concentrate on getting your economy stronger and then after year 1300 or so you will see how easy it is to get new provinces with your advanced troops...

You've done well to get to turn 40 without getting attacked/backstabbed. I never seem to get that far before a rival gets bored and attacks me.

    o.O

    I should commit a suicide - it's turn 160 and I'm only 11 provinces O.o

Now really, play to your heart's desire. If you want sheer world domination then just kill as much as you can. If you wanna play Godfather... then kill as much as you feel like it. Sicily is a good place to start
Either way, there is no "doing good" in this game. In the campaign it is you vs the PC and you have all the time in the world to win the game. Essentially, around turn 150 your economy should be so badass that you'll be able to win the game in 10 next turns (in case you didn't already).

Just have fun, don't be bothered.

lol, i did a short campaign with england and left france as a vassal with only paris, and sold the rest of france, so i could capture the new world and attack paris.... so i only had the whole of brittain + caen when the new world was discovered. so it is'nt a disaster.

I've seen faster starts, but what you have done is OK, given what you were trying to accomplish. Tis fun to experiment.

...Could i still win the long grand campaign?
Certainly now that you have your solid core of settlements. I would increase the acquisition rate if I were you; but you have plenty of time.

...Should I restart and attack more?
Attack more = Yes. Start over = No.

    ...give me some tips...
Several good strategies have been put forward. What I would do is pick on the weakest neighbor: Build several stacks and blitz him in one turn (so that the Pope can not stop you if it is a Catholic faction) or pick on rebels/non-catolic/excommunitcated.
