    Default R:TR for Barbarian Invasion?

    I have enjoyed playing RTR for over a year now. The best improvement made over Vanilla was especially the map and secondarily faction rework. The addition of a slough of provinces and expanded area really made for great long term play.

    Is there a RTR mod for BI? Maybe just an expanded/extended map? I love the religious component and distance from capital factors in empire.

    Thank you for your help!

    You can play RTRPE with the BI exe, but that doesn`t mean it`s a different mod all together. You`re not asking for a mod on BI`s timeframe, right?

    No, I am wondering, if there isn't a complete RTR mod for BI that utilizes the religion factor etc., if there is a way to use the RTR 1.9 strategic map in BI. I love the map and I love the BI gameplay.

    Maybe you'll find these features in RTR VII? Because 6.x is for RTW 1.2, and PE is just a conversion for 1.5/BI.

    I downloaded and installed 1.9PE in my BI game install ( I have several side-by-side installs with various mods ie. Napoleon, etc.). I launched BI and get a Data table error. I launch RTR and everything launches just fine.

    There are two versions of RTR PE. A full install and a mod switch verson. I presume you've installed the full version rather than the mod switch version.

    You need to supply more information if anyone is going to be able to help you.

    All I want to be able to do is play Barbarian Invasion using the RTR strategic map.

    The RTR map is designed to be used with RTR no other game. This is the same for any other mods out there.

    If you want to play a modded version of BI I'd suggest looking at INVASIO BARBARORVM (IBFD); http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=113

    However, I don't think that has an extended map.

    A few points:
    1. You don`t install RTRPE in the BI sub-folder of the game. You install it in the RTW folder as you would install RTR 6. What you do then is start the game via the RTR Platinum BI shortcut the mod creates on your desktop. What you get is the very same thing(same timeframe, same units, same map etc.) but using the BI ai and the swim ability for units. Nothing more.
    2. The map that is part of RTRPE will only work with it. To make Barbarian Invasion itself use the RTR map instead of the vanilla one, but keep its timeframe, units and factions needs serious modding. From your posts it seems you don`t see the difference between playing RTR with a different game engine(that of BI) which only brings a different ai and having RTR for BI sort of speak which you hope is having a new mod for BI`s timeframe. The latter is not possible. Installing RTR over BI does not magically transform it into somethign else. Though I wish it would.
    3. IBFD has a big/extended map. In fact it`s largely the same one RTRPE uses with a number of moddifications done to it. So, if you actually want to play a Barbarian Invasion timeframe mod try that. There is also Goth`s mod, but that uses the vanilla BI map with a few modifications. It doesn`t extend as much as you want.

    The last version of it I played (6.0 I think) had a map that covered pretty much what the RTR map covers, and I kinda think it was a bit more extended to the north, including more of Scandinavia, but not too sure about that last part.

    The map is extended.

    The following is the standard RTW BI version;

    The following is the version used by IBFD - the Flagellvm Dei variant;

    The following is the RTR PE version;
