    Default Elephant textures

    I finally recruited elephants (mercinaries) and there's one problem. The elephant (those with gunners on top) don't have a texture. they look like statue made of ice (including the gunners). Is there any way of fixing this?? oh, and their unit card shows as 'peasants' from RTW.

    on the other hand, the elephants with cannons have proper unit card and textures, and i just took over a half-garrisoned large city with those 2 elephant units... these expensive (3500 to recruit, 1500 upkeep XD) buggers definately worth their cost.

    On your PC, the units seem to perform quite poorly. I think there might be something nearby the PC that is causing this problem for you. You may need a mirror to find out what it is.

    SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\unit_models\mounts\elephant\textures

    If they're there then they should display ingame.

    my game doesn't have 'unit_models' folder maybe b/c it's steam version?

    Thanks, it solved the problem.

    I don't know what to do with the icons but adding 'mercenary_unit' to elephants in export_descr_unit.txt solved both unit card and ingame texture.
