    Default Multiplayer army composition

I was curious what units everyone likes to take for they're army and why.
    I usually take 4-6 missile 2-4 spearmen 4 2h axe/greatsword 4 heavy infantry
and 4-6 cav. I try and make balanced yet infantry centered armies. My favorite unit would either be the woodsmen as they are dirt cheap and yet very effective. Or the Lithuanian archers as Poland as they are good infantry/archers and cheap as well. the only drawbacks are that they are unarmored and don't have long range.

They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

Unless I'm playing a faction like the Mongols or there's a lot of money available, my armies are usually infantry heavy. Sometimes I'll only have 2 or 3 cav. I keep my units in homogenous and closely spaced lines with the strongest infantry in front. Pikemen will increase this formations effectiveness a lot and I'm partial to Flemish pikemen because they're very good and available in the high period. Weapon upgrades on the first line or on the pikemen will usually cause a break through in the enemy’s center. 3 or 4 strong missile troops are essential too in order to keep those lousy mounted crossbows away.
