"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Chakra is an energy flow within your body, it's called 'chi'. If you are good in controlling chakra you can join one of the 5 hidden villages and become a ninja, I personally recommend Konoha in the country of Leaf. You can use chakra for your techniques, and do cool stuff like forming chakra balls to kill evil ninjas like Itachi or Orochimaru.

So now you know what chakra is about. Although in this topic it might be about acapuncture and stuff, you know, sticking needles in your body, supposedly healing you by reversing the chi flow within, cosmic mumbojumbo superawesome healing powers. Bankai!

Precisely. Settle on one or a few cultural structures, not a thousand various things.

I mean, I'm admittedly a neopagan, and I combine some aspects of new-age philosophy into my beliefs- but I try to be reasonable about it. I try to keep it within the context of Wicca, which combines European folklore and Hermetic mysticism, and that's about it.
It doesn't try to steal ideas from several other cultures, which is sadly what some contemporary new-age philosophers are doing. All this does is further mar the common outlook on neopaganism, Wicca in particular, which sometimes associates itself with the new-age philosophical movement.

chakra’s are the energy centres in your {spiritual} body. it can be a useful tool even if you don’t believe is this stuff, which is something billions of hindu’s [over the last few thousaind years] would attest to. they have nothing to do with acupuncture as this is the winds in the body [no gaseous jesting please].

ha, well how many ares does a universalist need to involve in a universal understanding of things? i am not a new ager goddamit i am a druid and fundamental to our beliefs is to take from all sources ~ whats wrong with that?

    thanatos

well balanced there, perhaps the crown could be a little more open for insight etc, but as long as it is not closed its ok ~ but i am no expert.

    WBK

    nicely balanced!

why limit yourself? i simply want to build a complete picture of the human being which for includes many things from many traditions ~ it is as if the world is a jigsaw waitning to be put together.

besides i was into hinduism and buddism long before druidry, so my life has just brought me into contact with many traditions as i developed.

That's about as good a definition of a New Ager as I've ever seen.

    whats wrong with that?
The main problem I have with it is that it boils down to a "supermarket" of "beliefs" where people pick and choose what to believe based on what they'd like to be true because it appeals to them rather than based on what is supported by evidence.

Yes, there's that horrible word again.

Apparently my throat and Third-eye chakras are over-active. Not that I care anyway, I don't like this chakra stuff.

    Hi Quetz.,

I scored pretty much on an even keel except for the over use of the throat chakram.

Actually, this test is NOT a good test IMHO.

Check out "The Chakras and the Human Energy field" by Dora Kunz.
She was a clairvoyant and Theosophist.

Also look into "How to know higher worlds" by Rudof Steiner.
He was a clairvoyant also and the Head of the Anthroposophical society, flowing in a Rosicrucian vein of Esoteric understanding.

    Peace, OM Shanti

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your beliefs, it's just that I find such things 1) silly 2) somewhat insulting to the original practitioners.

i find labelling silly [such as 'new ager' people seam to think i am now ], and i find that when people cast aspersions to things they know very little of then that is silly. the original practitioners don’t mind at all!? ask any yogi if he minds people teaching or learning about the chakras ~ i doubt they would mind at all, especially as i only linked to a site rather than tried to claim i knew all about it.
