Default The Next Enemy Territory? ZOMG!

For me and many others Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was one of the best FREE online experiences you could get. As the time went on interest waned and now no one really plays the game. Apparently EA and DICE (Battlefield fame) were inspired by the greatness that was Enemy Territory. Yesterday they announced a free to download, free to play Battlefield game called Battlefield Heroes. It looks like a blast and I know I will be downloading this on day one, as I am a HUGE Battlefield 1942 fan and this looks like a great throw back to the original that made DICE famous.

    *cough* TF2 *cough*

Still. Could be interesting, and if it's not, it's free anyway

I agree, when I first saw the art style I thought TF2. But honestly, FREE BATTLEFIELD! What else could you want.

Oh my god they broke World War Two!

No, I'm quite happy it's not just another generic Second World War 'Kill all the Nazis' game. And I suppose I shall download it since it's free.

EA does know that it wasn't merely an American vs German war, don't they?

They said later this year, so I suspect it will be around August.

Hmmmmmmmm. They got to pay for it somehow. In game advertising?
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that EA would release the next BF for free, thanks to ads. I've got nothing against in-game ads as long as I don't have to pay for it.

Supposedly the adverts wont actually be in game, but rather you'll see them on the website you have to visit to play the game.

Then again, BF2142 had ingame adverts in the form of billboards integrated into the scenery. If anything they made the game funnier though.

Maybe they're trying to make up for their old mistakes? Considering how they apologized and all?

Loved the Pirate Bay-reference in the trailer!

I too sensed a very strong TF2-feel about it, but what the hell it's free, roight? (Trying to sound like Yahtzee )

Ah yeah, that trailer was a horrible attempt at his style. Poor guy's gonna have imitators here, there and everywhere from now on.

It did look decent. The whole concept is something that you would expect to pay for though. The gameplay however cant be that deep. But whatever, I can't resist free stuff!

Dudes, just because its cartoon style doesn't meant its like TF2. Thats like saying that Call of Duty(1 and 2) and the Medal of Honor series is the same because its in WW2.
Ever heard about XIII? Its cartoon style and was before TF2

But 13 is not the same genre as TF2 and this. Both are simpler multiplayer shooters.

You didn't read my post, since XIII is a multiplayer too....
But the mainpoint is that if the game is the same sort of setting, it doesn't mean it stole its setting.

It's obviously inspired by TF2, not saying that's a bad thing.
