So it says my general/prince didn't succumb to her temptations but instead married her... uh... she ain't in the family tree? So where is she?

No one's ever experienced this? C'mon. Is there a mod work around anyone knows?

I think once a princess is married off, you can't use her anymore...

As for not showing up in the family tree...it *may* have to do with the fact that she's not in YOUR family anymore, but in her new husband's family... but whoooooo knows? Not I.

I'm sure you misunderstood the message from the game. When an enemy princess attempts to marry your general, she will either
    - succeed => they will marry and the general will pass to her faction.
    or
    - fail => be disgraced, which means she didn't manage to sway the general and is now being shadowed by her failed attempt which stains her honour and dignity and thus she disappears, but not because she marries your general (she FAILED in making him marry her!!) but because she is now politically worthless and been removed from big politics. Possibly she's sitting somewhere in her father's royal court and irritates other people or became a nun (it was typical to send 'unhandy' women of aristocratical origin to monasteries where they could rot and die forgotten by the world, while everyone else would think they are spending their time in a most useful way - in service of God)

Post a screenshot of that, please.

Because the one time my general repelled a marry attempt gave a clear message that he "refused that vile wretch's seductions" and that "we would be happy to have her in our family *if* she had offered that marriage in an official way", which means the marriage had not taken place because she acted like a b.....

The only explanation would be that there are two possible princess failure effects.
    I doubt that, personally.

So, please, post a screenshot. Maybe you saved the game before or sth?

no the message stated clearly: she will soon join OUR FAMILY as she has decided to marry your general.

also when I lose a princess to the AI by failing at a seduction and it says she fell in love and decided to run off with him... I noticed the AI general remains unmarried.

I have gotten the message before and it does lead one to believe that she marries the general/family member and loses her status with her own faction. That is not the case though. The wording I iirc is that she "joins his court" so she doesn't actually marry but instead becomes his concubine or something like that.

Sure that works for me. I think I'll just rewrite the texts to reflect this, and then it'll be OK with me.

I had gotten that same message recently too. I was wondering why she didn't become his wife... :hmmm:
