Strange Bug

Okay - I had an easy download and install, everything went right (as far as I can tell) so, I go into the game, and try to start a camagain. Every time I hit "Main Campagin", however, it tells me to "Select an item from the list" There is no list and obviously, it's a bug.

So, I go to exit out and see if I can fix it. When I exit out, however, it tells me there is an error in Line 28 of the Dscr_strat file. Or something. So, I go through thatfile, but I can't find a single obvious error.

If this is in the wrong place or something, please tell me.

Hey Alexius! Just saw your post at the def. Decided to come check this out.

I've seen something similar to this bug before. I think it happens in some mods when I try to click on 'historical battles'. Also sometimes there is a new option on the list, it says 'Caesar's campaign' or something vaguely like that. I can't remember exactly. But when I click on it I get the same thing. You described. It says select another item from the list.

I think it means the mod isn't installed properly. This is just a guess, but try installing it again. Maybe that will help.

Hey BigDaddy! Seeing as I've re-installed it twice now, i doubt it. I will try re-downloading it, but, well, I'll still take suggestions.

can you exactly describe error message?

your error is very common, this can mean one of two things:
1) you forgot to install the BI 1.6 patch
solution-install the patch and install IBFD again.
2) you are using a version that has problems with 1.6 options, versions that I know of that seems to have this problem are RTW Gold and French versions of 1.6.
solution, if u have Gold installed just force patch your version, that usually works, if it still doers not or if u aren't interested in doing so edit ur descr_strat, the lines causing the problems are actually not line 28 but
line 4 options bi
and
line 42 night_battles_enabled
try disabling those scripts (by adding a ; to the beginning of the line)
most I have heard have gone through this problem by disabling 'options bi'

Hi to everyone .. i have patched rtw 1.2,1.3,1.5.then barbarian invasion to 1.6. i have installed INVASIO BARBARORUM 7.i patched it at 7.3 .i play and i found some bugs . first i chose Romano British . when i am playing against picts (celts) one from their unit is like destroying my graphic and i cant see anything in battle , this happen with every function .second sudden crushes usually at other functions turn . finally i tried to install the patch 7.5 .when i begin to play campaign or costum battle the game every time crushes . please i beg you create a patch or tell me with details what to do with the picts and sudden crashes .why i cant put patch 7.5 did i have to install 7.4 and where to find . if someone answer use my name to understand that you are talking to me . i am new please
