    ROME MEDIEVAL PREVIEWS & INFORMATION

Lord Of The Knights and RM Team Present:

Rome Medieval 2.0beta is a mod which takes RTW to the middle ages. You've now got the chance to take one out of 18 historical factions and lead it to dark age glory on a new campaign map.
There are 4 campaigns for you to play, giving you the opportunity to play from 1074 all the way to 1540!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Some pics of the map:

    The Holy Land

    Iberian Peninsula

    Byzantium and Greece

The Low Countries: Vlaanderen, Brabant and Holland

    The British Iles

    Campaigning dans la France:

    The Americas

    Russia

    Baltic Region

    The Persian Gulf and Iraq

Rome Medieval is a playable Beta of a very ambitious mod, started and created by Lord Of The Knights (with some help from others).
Currently we're working on more historical correctness, a more varied unit roster for the factions (see here and here) and unit and building descriptions.

    Some examples of the latter:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

You can enjoy this mod and try to take Jerusalem back from the filthy Saracens as a catholic faction; or try one of the powerful Sultanates of the Near East and show those knight templars what real men look like!
Or be a menace to all civilizations and lead your horse archers into Asia and Europe just like Genghis Khan did! Either way, be prepared for some epic battles!
You can also enjoy this mod by becoming a part of its team. Everyone is welcome, we need hard workers who know enough about modding (especially someone who can work with traits and ancilliaries).
If you don't know how to mod, you can still have your say on the way this mod should look by telling us your comments and suggestions.

Now take a look at the gorgeous killing machines you can take to the battle field in RM2. Lead your knights (mounted or dismounted) to honour and glory, backed up by men-at-arms, pikemen, horsemen of lesser nobility and the occasional fierce looking double handed swordsman. They are covered from the back not only by arrows and bolts, but by real fire power too! (That's right, we've got cannons!)

just beautiful...it's a shame that i'm playing too many mods now...sure i will try this in the future!!
30BC: Ottaviano Augusto becomes the first Imperator, in his 44 years of principate he will bring to the empire peace and prosperity!
70AD: Vespasiano is the winner of first great empire's civil war, rebuilding Roman world after the Nero's dark ages.
98AD: Traiano becomes imperator after that the senateman Nerva adopted him,he will start a gold age for the empire getting it to biggest extension!! 117AD-180AD Adriano,Antonino Pio and Marco Aurelio administrate the empire during his richest and most pacific period, with their good administration Rome lives its golden age.
193AD: Settimio Severo wins the civil war started after the death of Commodo starting the Severan dinasty, his heirs will not be as good as him. 252-285AD Rome lives the peak of III century's crisis, onli the emperor Aureliano will be able to reunite the empire breacked in 3 parts and the great reformer Diocleziano will give to Rome militar, politic and social cohesion after decades of caos. 325AD:Costantino rules alone over the empire and christianity is for the first time accepted by the imperial government.

Quick question - does this start with traditional RTW troop types and then change into medieval type troops after time, or does this start straight away as medieval?

1076-1540 with four seperate campaigns : one starting in 1076, the other three starting later, all lasting until 1540.
