Anyone else here often find themselves in world wars?

Well, i used to always wish for world wars in before i stopped playing for a while, but now that I am back I find myself in a world war almost all the time. Then again I am using Sicilian Vespers mod(Reg MT2W 1.2) instead of Stainless Steel, but thats besides the point.

This game it's me as Venice(I migrated to Sicily/Southern Italy to turtle) and i just now retook all of the Italian peninsula including Rome. The papal states new capital is Marseille. Well I got excommunicated for that obviously, but got back on the popes good side. I was allies with the HRE, Byzantines, and the French. Soon war broke out between Egypt and I, and the Turks soon aided Egypt and that resulted in a large naval conflict. The Byzantines were already at war with the Turks who took Constantinople and Hadrianopolis.

The HRE, who had extended its empire from modern day borders on the west all the way through Poland, attacked the Turks to help Byzantium. The French surged through the HRE at this point, and they allied with the Egyptians and Turks. It was basically the top 6 empires duking it out 3 on 3, me being #1, Turks #2, HRE #3, Egypt #4, French #5, Byzantium #6.

Soon Denmark attacked the HRE, the Danish allies, the Scottish, attacked England, and Russia, the other allies of the Danes, attacked the HRE as well. The English pushed the scots back and are now attacking France.

Its basically Venice, Byzantium, HRE VS Turks, Egypt, France VS Denmark, Russia VS England. The Iberian peninsula is already in a war among the Spanish, Portuguese and Moors, but they may end up being dragged into the war.

I just felt like sharing that as its very fun, and I was wondering do you guys ever find yourselves in world wars?

Wow. That's some complicated diplomacy right there

I have a feeling you're going to win this one - you have two of the best factions on your side.

Its interesting to see how the AI alliances defend their overall teritory, usually pretty horribly

Ive been in a HRE (me), Poland, and Russia VS Hungary, Venice, and Milan VS Mongols situation before

Three guesses who basicly controlled the world after that one

PS. This sounds like it should be in the AAR section to me

i did have a situation that started off as half of europe allied to england and the other half allied to me (Scotland). france attacked england with me, denmark attacked me for england, hre (englands ally) attacked france, spain (englands ally) attacked portugal (my ally) and milan (may have been allied to england) attakced me and france (and i think hre as well weirdly...). so not everyone attacking each other, but getting there... so i killed england, allied with spain (broke off portugusee alliance), sort of pacified everyone else and am currently killing denmark. milan also have it coming pretty soon

Happened to me once in 1.1 I think. I was Venice with about 20 regions and had killed Sicily and Milan (I think) when it broke out. It ended up being Pope, England, Denmark, Turkey, Venice, Russia and Poland v. France, Spain, HRE, Egypt, Hungary, Byzantines and Scotland. Both the Scots and the Poles got knocked out of the war after about 10 turns. Russia actually attacked Poland partitioning it (heh) but then allied with the rest of us after Poland was down to 1 region.

It all started when I as Venice took Valencia. Within 5 turns everyone had declared war only on people on the opposing side, and allied with everyone on their side. Turkey actually refused to go to war to help their ally (me) until Egypt entered the war, where upon they declared war by attacking Egypt and the Byzzies the next turn. The war lasted some thirty turns before the alliance broke down into the usual squabbling but by then I'd conquered all the Byzantine and Spanish lands and it was too late for anyone to stop me.

I have been in a Milan (me)+ Pope, vs. Mongols+Egyptians+Russians+Byzantines+Hungarians.

Of course, my empire was everything in northwestern Africa, all of Spain, all of France, all of Italy (except Rome), all of Germany, all of Poland, all of England, all of Greece, and a bit into Russia.

So, it was technically all of Western Europe (all me) vs. All of Eastern Europe.

Earlier in that campaign, I was in Milan (me) + Spain + England + Portugal vs. France + HRE + Moors + Scotland + Venice. Suffice it to say, I single-handedly beat all the enemy, then turned on my allies and conquered Europe.

The only way the game is fun to me is to be at war with almost everyone. That is why I always try to keep my rep at mixed. Never more than reliable. Once you get into the trustworthy part, nobody will attack you most of the time.

I have that every main campaign i do! and usually i ally with as many factions in the start but as soon as one of them attacks the other all hell breaks loose and i lose half my allies and I'm at war with almost every one!
