Size of army
Hello people, i've been playing this mod a little and I really like it. Anyway my question was: Does it make a big difference to play with the armies size at "normal" instead of "large", as the manual recommends? Because my computer isn't very good and while I DO enjoy playing with 100 soldiers per unit I would prefer to play with normal so I don't lag so much.

Re: Size of army
Well, city battles aren't so buggy with normal unit size, so I guess that's a plus...

Re: Size of army
Oh good, that's a problem I've seen in city battles too. I was asking this because in the manual it said:
"The campaigns are designed to work best with the "large" units setting. Smaller units will produce population growth rates that are too high, and excessive unrest. Larger units may cause settlements to be depopulated by the AI."
Is this true?

Re: Size of army
Yes, that's true. Smaller unit scales will cause smaller settlements to grow in size more quickly then intended. They will keep some extra citizens in them that will add to population growth for each successive turn. Depopulation can become a big problem with cities and smaller (large town, town, village) as actual growth can be less then the amount of troops trained, causing stalled growth or population shrinkage.

Re: Size of army
Well, that kinda sucks... did this happen in vanilla RTW too?

Re: Size of army
Yes, vanilla has it too. It all has to do with all recruits coming from the settlement (people in the countryside apparantly don't join armies). I prefer the Medieval 2 way.

Re: Size of army
Yeah, too bad my computer can barely run it. But now that I know vanilla had it too I guess I'm ok since I've always played with troop size "normal".
Thanks both of you
