    Default alpha channel problem

    Hi

I'm converting some of my old RTW models to M2TW.
It seems that there's something wrong with alpha channel, since it remains a sort of black border around the pieces cut with alpahs ...do you know a way to resolve that problem? ...maybe something related to the options to check using nvidia dds plug-in?

    Thanks in advance.

its called feathering. The new graphics engine in M2 is heavy on it and doesn't handle alpha channels very well (probably one of the reasons almost no units in M2 use alpha channels). You can't fix it but you can reduce the look of it by having the textures extend beyond the edge defined by the alpha channel. The reason its a black edge is you have black around the texture, so if your texture is white you want white to be around the texture. This way as the feathering kicks in it looks less obvious. The other remedy is of course to use no alpha channels and simply model whatever it is you are creating with alpha channels in 3D.
