    Icon6 becoming bored

I have been playing this for around 4+ years, tried various mods, serrecum, metronaval, rtpe etc.I have tweaked a few setting EG: giving the Romans loads of money 60 000 000,then tried giving them 1.6million+ reducing their aux build times to two and provincial barracks to 1.
Even using the above cheats and trying different tactics Eg sending three ship loads early on to attack egypt or selucuians to weaken them or immediately attacking th macs and greeks,it always ends up the same.
Rome has western Europe and you then have to fight stack after stack of another faction, usually selucians, egypt, macs or sometimes bactria.
My own opinion is that to much is made of the armies, what i mean is it turns into a "who can produce the most stacks game"
if it could be modded for all factions where an army is slow to build and very valuable or expensive to produce there may be less armies but battles would be far more important and perhaps the A1 would be less inclined to throw stack after stack at some insignificant town?:hmmm:
Anybody got another way of playing?and i have tried other factions but i like rome. By the way serucem has the best map and best skins as it has different legions, rtpe is the hardest on Vh/H and metros no walls/ports also makes it good, just my opinions of course.

If you play on VH/H then the AI gets less help than if you had played H/VH. That is standard in all RTW based mods.

You could always introduce 'house rules' to limit how you play. Have a look through the AARs for some ideas.

What do you mean with the A1 gets less help?
The house rules is fine and i did have some with the cheats i introduced. No bribing.
The main thing that annoys me is as i said it always turns into a "who can produce the most stacks the fastest" once i get to this stage now,i abandon the game.

As an after thought,is there no way the factions can say:
only produce troops in perhaps two settlements,
    the costs are increased,
the specialist troops are very expensive,
the times are longer to train them.
This would mean less armies and you would be more inclined to look after your armies, picking and choosing when and if to fight?

I’m afraid that you will get even larger armies containing weak, cheap and “fast to create” units if you make the specialist even more expansive and longer to recruit.

The only way to make the game interesting, IMO, is to house rule how you play. It's too easy otherwise, and using the most effective tactics is frankly boring.

Trying to keep the smaller factions alive is a game in and of itself, along with restraining yourself to historical advancement (if possible) or just taking it slowly.

I've found it much more fun playing as factions other than rome. My current Macedon campaign is fun as hell. Try to use the Samartians or another eastern faction to try and recreate ancient Persian warfare (full stacks, huge armies, and conquering everyone)

I don't think you can give money to another faction with the cheat, you have to do that with a diplomat.

But to use all the cheats, you just press the ` key to bring up the console. Then for funds it's "add_money [amount up to 40,000]". I use the "toggle_fow" one a lot to keep an eye on how the big factions are expanding and the small ones are surviving.

    I am fairly certain you can give or take money away from another faction;

    add_money Macedon 40000
    add_money Macedon -40000

Just make sure that you use the correct name.

I did this a couple of times in the dim and distant past.

Edited: I had a quick look in the TIC scripts they use a comma after the faction name.

    console_command add_money carthage, 5000

Also use the name the game uses. This isn't always the displayed name

Example: insteat of Illyria you should say britons and not Republic of Rome but romans_julii

What about the "does destroyed factions money disappear or does the conqueror get the money"? as in if parthia had 2 000 000 denari left ?:hmmm:

I think it just disappears as you don't get any money when you defeat a faction yourself. It's a pitty though (not sure about the english) that you don't get it as a lot of wars between factions were just for the money, wich could be gained by steeling from the people, plundering of temples but also plundering the treasury. Maybe it could be scripted :hmmm:
