Question for Windows Vista Users
I'm having problems trying to switch the show banners feature off. No matter what I do, I can't. One of my hypothesis is that the problem is related to some issue with Windows Vista since I never had problems with Windows XP. Could any Vista user try to do the change and confirm this? Thank you in advance.

Re: Question for Windows Vista Users
I've been trying to turn banners off but can't find where to do this - the 'preferences' files is blank! Am I looking in the wrong place? Or is this a 'Vista' thing?

Re: Question for Windows Vista Users
So SBH, you have the same problem, it seems. If a third Vista user has the same problem, then we could definitely confirm my hypothesis. Thanks for the reply, man.

Re: Question for Windows Vista Users
Vista doesn't like changes to Program Files. I am going to try a few things: save change to preferencesnew file, delete existing preferences file, rename preferencesnew to preferences. Also I am going to try going into the virtualstore filw under user (hidden file) so make unhidden changing property of folders and in there make the change on the preference file. I know that sounds odd, but vista has quirks and any game I install seems to have duplicate info in that virtualstore file so I am unsure where the gam eis being run from. I will post results tomorrow

The issue was resolved by a guy in the technical questions forum (cluelessnewbie). This is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=148999
