If you play RTR with BI, does that mean factions can come back "from the dead"?

    No it's not possible.

That's only every happened in MTW. It's not possible in RTW based games unless it's modded in (using scripts maybe).

@Ojf - forgot to mention the game is better with RTW BI than RTW. There are more naval invasions.

Hmm, in which case I'll continue to hold off on getting BI. That's the only reason I'd have wanted it was the possibility that the small factions could return again. If I need it for VII then I'll get it then.

What like? I've seen "better" AI mentioned, and a lot of features that require scripting that's absent from PE.

Night battles? Are they really any good?
Swimming? Is that a big change?

BI wouldn't be an expensive acquisition for me, but I have no interest in vanilla BI at all (covers a period of history I don't care about). What are the noticeable changes in my RTR experience with BI?

You can have nightbattles in RTW v1.5. You don`t need BI for that. And, as it says in the FAQ it doesn`t do anything for RTRPE besides the better AI, more agresive/competent naval invasions and the can swim ability iirc. The rest would need to be activated either via modding your own game or installing a mini-mod/add-on on top of it. Such things as hording for example.

Well, with swimming ability one can no longer easily camp on the bridgehead with missiles at the back shooting at the AI when they tried to cross.

The downside of the swimming ability is that the unit emerges from the water in a 'tired' state. Easy for the slaughter.

I've played games where the AI attempts to swim across near a bridge. The unit just ends up as a bunch of dead bodies floating down the stream.....

I can honestly count the number of battles with rivers in them on one hand. In fact I think the only one I had was in a custom battle. Maybe I need to work harder on ambushing and forcing fights on rivers?
