Default Captain model = General model

Ever got tired of seeing your family members as tin cans while playing northern factions who didn't use that much plate armour?

Just a small change in descr_characters is all that's needed.
I changed it for Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Scotland, Lithuania, Novgorod and Kiev.

Just thought I'd chip in this one as well. More realistic Norwegian names, you will still see Charles but everything else is fixed.

I see you figured it out! NO more tincans.

Too bad you can't select 3 battle models like you can for named character strat models.

More names is good too; I've been getting tired of seeing my English Captains have the same names so I pasted all the Irish, Scottish and few other Anglicised names in first names slot. Variety is good ;-)

Yes I know, but at least I won't have to see tin can characters for my favourite factions anymore (don't mind the Western-Southern Europeans having tin can generals as they actually used alot of plate armour)

This sounds like a good idea for an update of stainless steel as well if KK is interested in it of course.

I do hope so, though I have no problem editing this myself once again to 6.0.
It took me 5 minutes, testing included
Thanks goes to Socal_Infidel (PDER) for telling me how

Would it be possible to slip in some models of unique generals from the kingdom campaigns for unique generals or captains for some factions or would that cause crashes?

Errr... As long as you will update modeldb and copy the meshes and textures from (unpacked) Kingdoms, it should be fine, AFAIK. Notify us of the progress! =)

Yngvar, you inspired me to make a "Captain Rasputin" for Kiev..took about 15 minutes..

Remember if you make a unique general or captain model for a faction, you have to include merc and slave entries in modeldb or he will be invisible if he commands a merc unit (like these) or rebels.

Yes please, let us know when it's done
It's redundant to write your username at the end of your post,
if I wanted to see your name I'd look to the left of my screen.

If I only knew! I have the same chances in finding this one, as one has in finding the robin-hood-like archer hat in modern England.

And please, direct your questions about WINTER gear to someone, who has snow more than few days a year! =) And probably the one, who actually lives closer to Russia.

Maybe the jerusalem and teutonic captains and general models could be used by a few other nations for more variety? That wont need new models, just reskins.

I think the jerusalem general would be perfect for the papal states with the cross on top of the helmet.

The teutonic general could perhaps be used for poland and hungary, and perhaps the HRE as well.

I am personly rather fond of the jerusalem captain model with the cape and the bucket helmet. It seems very useable for a lot of factions when reskinned.
